Recieving Hits

Post by david53 »

Hi There
Was reading about taking hits wondered if you could help.

Unit one is fighting Unit A Unit one gives four hits and recieves three in return.
At the same time Unit B is also fighting Unit One it throws one hit on Unit One, Is the totals for Unit A and B combined to equal the total hits recieved from Unit One, making four a piece. Hope this makes sense.

To paraphrase

:? :?
:? :?

:? Is fighting  with  in overlap

:? scores 4 hits on
 scores 3 hits on :?
 scores 1 hit on :?

What is the outcome?

He already knows my answer

 has taken more hits than it inflicted and so must CT and Death Roll.
:? must Death Roll (at +2 for not losing) but overall has not taken more hits than received and so does not CT.
 makes no rolls at all having taken no hits.

For answers on multi-BG combats read the FAQ in online resources on www.fieldofglory.com. It has a very good description on now to calculate the winners and losers.

One thing that I think Hammy told me way back when was don't worry about who won, focus on who lost. With multi BG melees getting complex with how many hits, it just takes away one more variable. Besides for CTs you really only care about who lost the close combat.

Just thought I would toss this out there as it really helped me.

I think that focusing on who lost makes the whole complex combat thing much simpler to fathom.

But if somebody else could phrase it better Dave it is better as far as you are concerned. Thats why I didn't post my answer as it may have affected what others wrote.
He already knows my answer
