The Parthians successfully defended their territory against the Bactrians 41% - 0%. Let this be a warning to others.

Re: Bactrian Empire Campaign 250 BC Gameplay
The Bactrians lost calamitously to Parthia in our attempt to convince the Parthian people to join us. Fortunately all of our leaders survived the battle, although their fate at home after displaying such incompetence is, well, questionable. Hopefully the new general-in-chief will be more competent. ...

This looks fun. Should have participated.
Re: Bactrian Empire Campaign 250 BC Gameplay
Nabataea invasion of Ptolomaic Kingdom met with success; 47% to 11%.
The Nabataean tribesmen enjoys the sight of the pyramids and the nightlife of Cairo.
Further sightseeing expeditions to be announced.

Sigh, the uncivilized Nabateans ambushed the Ptolomeic army in some rough hills and refused manly combat in favour of shooting my loyal servants.
All hail Overlord hidde.....for now.

I assume no generals were lost?
Out of four games completed so far, the attacker has won half. It seems to me that the attacker's 1,100 force points is not too much of a disadvantage to the defender's 1,200 force points.

Mountain Indians repulsed Indians 17-48. As far as I recall no generals fell.

We are working on it, but IIRC my opponent is in the antipodes so maximum possible timezone mismatch.w_michael wrote:Great. One game left.SnuggleBunnies wrote:Mountain Indians repulsed Indians 17-48. As far as I recall no generals fell.

Understood. That is why I thought that 20 calendar days for one game was reasonable, but possibly not if you can only get in one turn per 24 hours.rbodleyscott wrote:We are working on it, but IIRC my opponent is in the antipodes so maximum possible timezone mismatch.w_michael wrote:Great. EDIT: You still have 10 days left for the battle to come to a conclusion.

Well it doesn't help that we have already played the game out once, but I had set the wrong points.w_michael wrote:Understood. That is why I thought that 20 calendar days for one game was reasonable, but possibly not if you can only get in one turn per 24 hours.

It is my sad duty to report the repulse of the Armenian invasion of Arabia.
A titanic struggle between two walls of crap, victory went to the side with the most crap. (No doubt superior tactics were also involved, but the failure of the Armenian cataphracts to break through quickly enough, and then their reprehensible tendency to pursue too far away from the fighting, sealed the Armenian fate).

I don't recall any. Several of mine fled the field, but presumably survived due to the protection of their complete armour. (Like Hazelrig at the battle of Roundway Down. As King Charles said of Hazelrig, "if he had been better provisioned, he could have withstood a siege").iandavidsmith wrote:Still in shock as i type this..

Re: Bactrian Empire Campaign 250 BC Gameplay
You do score campaign victory points for generals that have been lost in close combat, dispersed with a routing unit, or routed off the map. This does not include generals with routed units still on the map, or generals with units that have pursued an enemy unit off the map. Those 1 and 2 VP are important tie breakers when determining the player rankings and winner.
Let me know if anyone has an adjustment to their score, if they thought that only generals lost in close combat counted.
I modified the campaign rules in the Signup topic to better clarify this.

Re: Bactrian Empire Campaign 250 BC Gameplay
Here is the campaign map at the start of Turn 2. Note that the armies have returned to their respective empires, and that there are two vassal empires: Atropatene and Ptolemaic Kingdom. Overlords can direct their vassal who to attack (i.e. move their army for them when the vassal's movement sequence number is called), or allow their vassal to use their discretion. Winners of battles in the previous turn will be allocated two movement sequence numbers, and they will retain the best and give the worst to the loser of the battle.
The Hsiung-nu lost their Commander-in-Chief in battle, so a die is rolled to see his actual fate: 4. The C-in-C suffered a mere flesh wound. Nothing happens.
I have just drawn turn 2 movement sequence numbers and assigned them. PM and emails have been sent out. It turns out that the Rebellion Chit (movement sequence number 12) was assigned to a vassal: Atropatene. They have rebelled against their overlord, the Seleucid Empire, and are now free of vassalage. I have adjusted the campaign map to reflect this.

We are now ready for the movement orders for turn 2.
Hsiung-nu - AlessandroD has movement sequence number 1. We await your army's orders.

Well I am fairly sure I lost at least one general dispersed.w_michael wrote:You do score campaign victory points for generals that have been lost in close combat, dispersed with a routing unit, or routed off the map.
