Switching between difficulty settings

Post by Bombax »

Another one on difficulty settings I'm afraid!

I would like to change difficulty settings when I'm playing different combinations against the AI. For example, I'm finding that Level 2 is too easy for my games using Romans against Pike armies, so I'm going to try Level 3. But in other games - battles and campaigns - I'd like to continue to play on Level 2 as I learn the game.

So my question is whether the game "remembers" the selected difficulty level for (a) saved battles, and (b) saved campaigns. Or does it default to whatever the current difficulty setting is?

If anyone can shed any light on this I'd appreciate it!

Thanks,
Bombax.

It defaults to the currently set difficulty. However, that won't always affect a saved game.

As the only difference between Tribune-Emperor level is in the initial forces, changing the difficulty level won't affect a saved custom, quick or epic battle unless the changed or previous level is Centurion or Deity.

For campaigns it is less simple. Some things will be affected by the new difficulty level, some won't.
