Hotseat broken?

I only get the screen opening in the background when clicking on the Hotseat image.
I need to test a new custom multiplayer scenario.

seems maybe your on a different version? standard site and steam version, latest none beta game works fine

Me too. Erik, you know this from experience that sometimes when you install beta, it compromises your main game installation. I did only a partial beta install but I backed out when I realized that I did not have a proper serial number. Perhaps yours is a beta issue?

for me a uninstall and folder wipe fixes almost everything, including beta testing, with a good cleaning tool, i use ccleaner, but there's plenty of other good free ones out there

I have deleted the beta folder and also moved the serials_beta.dat and options_beta.dat out of the Settings folder.
Hotseat is still not working.

I'm wary of deleting the beta install via the Control Panel. Last time I did that I had to reinstall the official version and all campaigns from scratch...

Is there anything in registry I can delete that will only affect the beta?

now you have removed the beta, for me a registry cleaner would remove any none use traces and sort out that for you, or does for me anyway

this for me as shown above sorts out any beta and standard version conflicts etc, as game shown updated, but beta was at this point also removed, with a later updated .net feature etc.

i'm on and off beta all the time, one reason i wipe the system almost every month now so a clean install doesn't take over anything which may harm or give false reading or errors on something else etc, only takes 20 mins max on a image and SDD

I've run three different regcleaners.
I still got the issue.
Looks like it is time for a re-install...

I have uninstalled both beta and official versions, cleaned the registry and reinstalled the official game and campaigns.
I have not reinstalled the beta.

Hotseat is still broken.
I cannot host a multiplier challenge. Never get to the screen.
Tested joining a challenge. Never get to the screen.
Looks like most everything MP-wise is broken.

Really need some help with this...

Tried multiplayer on a 3rd (!) PC.
This laptop has never had any beta installed.
MP fails here as well, so I guess the issue is related to my player profile.
I had to merge my Matrix/Slitherine accounts a while back and choose a new player name as my old name was not accepted for some reason.

ask support to look at it, just incase something else is still there, as it worked for me, then again i had or have more than a few logins on the pc, as GF and he son use all these pc's as well

Support sent your issue my way to see if I can help figure this out.

Can I check, you're running 4.1.7 and you're installing on a fresh PC with nothing inside the My Games/Order of Battle - WWII folders?

What happens if you install just the Beta version of the game? Does that work okay?

I can check with Adherbal as to when the game consults the servers about your user details, but I would have expected that to be when you're logging in to PBEM only, and so should have no effect on Hotseat...

Indeed, with just the basic "free" installer, there's no user account info in the game at all, so that shouldn't really affect HotSeat....

Can you run the game, get these issues and then upload your output_log.txt to this thread?

Yes, I've tried clean installs on all three PCs.

The beta hot-seat works OK, I currently use this to test 4.1.7 custom multiplayer scenarios.
Can't test beta multiplayer (of course).

I have attached 3 output_logs; hot-seat, create challenge and join challenge.
I did a game restart between each.

For now, it's probably best to hold fire and see whether the latest patch (which will release out of beta along with Panzerkrieg soon) fixes this.

If not, then we can try and do more digging into why you're being affected like this
