Goats and cats

So we're looking out the back door and this cat comes along stalking something.It climbs the fence and is in it's hunting mode. Our goats see it and start pointing at it like they were bird dogs and saw a pheasant.
They mosey on up to the cat and the cat never pays them any attention. Suddenly the goats attack and start stomping on the cat and butting it. The cat is flying everywhere. Finally it's able to reach the fence and climb to the top when POW! the goats butt it again. The cat goes flying about 20 feet into a tree where it is momentrily stunned for a few seconds. The it gets up wanders for a few feet,falls down again,gets back up,shakes it's head and runs off into the woods..
I never knew goats didn't like cats.
It was the funniest thing I have seen in ages! If only we had a camcorder we could have been rich!

I have a cat. I remember a goat that tried something like that. The goat now has little white lines on its nose. Did the cat that you are talking about have something wrong with its claws? Or maybe self-esteem issues?

I guess it was so intent on it's prey ( a mouse probably) it wasn't paying attention to the rest of the world . I suspect it will from now on.
It was a feral cat(a cat that somebody has dropped off out here in the woods and turned wild).
I have few neighbors and know all their cats.
I know the goats don't like the deer around here either but none of them has jumped the fence since we got the goats.
I'm going to get some signs saying "Beware of goats!".

Goats are fine animals. Very stuborn when you try to lead a few of them on a hill though. They produce great milk (I love goat's milk with nesquik cereals) and amazing meat. If you can handle the particular smell of that meat and you eat it quickly while it is hot. If you try to eat it cold or after re heating it, prepare your teeth for some heavy chewing.

Yes, its certainly better than sheep in any form. Mutton is bad. Haggis is worse.

I like goat cheese. Goats milk is a bit strong for me, though.

If you like eating cereals, try them with goat's milk. You might like it.

BTW, what is mutton?

Mutton is adult sheep meat (from the French "Muton" for sheep) rather than little cute baby lamb...delicious

. I kind of like it, bit chewy though. In America most people don't eat mutton or goat.
