Thermopylae 279 BC scenario

Post by Paul59 »

Here is another of my new scenarios that you can download from the games "Download Community scenarios" button, on the Epic Battles or campaign screens.

It shows the Galatians attempting to force the pass of Thermopylae during their invasion of Greece. Eventually they used the same pass that the Persians used in 480 BC to outflank the Greeks, but this scenario shows their earlier frontal assaults.

1) I have given the player extra units at lower difficulty levels. This is a intentionally a very difficult scenario, so you may have to use the lower levels to get a win. I could not win it on Emperor level.

2) I have created a new Greek Light Javelin Horse unit, by using the Grk_Arm_Cav figure and modifying the textures. Thanks to Little Big Men Studios for the new shield designs.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for all these scenarios, Paul. They, along with this game, have got me reading books about ancient history for the first time in ages (like 40+ years!). :D

They had 200 years to build a wall, create barricades, or rig a landslide to close that pass during times of war. Not closing the exhaust vent on the Death Star doesn't look so unbelievable after all (putting aside the latest retcon).
