Ditto...I'm winging it also for the experience. Been practicing the past few nights....gotta say....skythians? really? I have no idea how the heck to play horse armies. or even against them. This should hurt...bad! LOL

Good morning. Is there any chance of extending this tournament to 10 days per round? I agree with the person that said having two weekends is essential to having enough time to complete the games. It's really tough with all the different time zones that we get in these tournaments. I'm in California, USA, which is at least 8-12 hours difference than a good majority of the other players. So, it's hard to get more than one turn in during the weekdays.

Please consider adding more time for THIS tournament. Thank you!

We will be using 10 days for future tournaments, including the new one posted today.

Ok. I was hoping you could extend this tournament to 10 days also, since it hasn't started yet.

I'm late but I think I must ask;
Round 1: Romans vs Seleucids
What lists to use? There are four of each
Scenario? I presume open battle.
Map type. Can we choose any?

My mirror battles for the first round were all set up when I logged in and I just had to choose my troops and deployment. I assumed Slitherine did this but it may have been my opponent.

You don't set up the scenario, the tournament system does it automatically.

You are drawn against JC_von_Preussen, and you should already have a least one game waiting in your "My turn" tab.

To be fair, the tournament info did not make it clear.

Thanks

In the middle of a set of games with godscop and we received message that different scripts were being used. I am sure the reason was that in between turns I started a community made game which had modded units. I quit out of the application and went back in and the message did not reappear. I don't know if that constitutes a bug but it said to report on forum. I lost the first game but am having a blast so it evens out. :D

It is probably a bug with the script checking code, but we have not yet managed to track it down. It won't actually affect your game.

Do you recall which community made scenario you used?

A couple of questions re timing out.

Given the timezone split between Europe and NZ what is the likely penalty to be if we don't finish given our time difference and delays between turns. I ask as I see it comes down to how long we take to play and submit turns is this a viable penalty to enhance world play?

On another matter if one player chooses to turtle on a hill in the corner of a map and refuses to come out and engage (which I'm potentially encountering looking at the opening moves) who gets penalised, he who turtles or him who refuses to assault because its futile for a quality game (think avg pike assaulting up hill v sup armoured impact swords where you cant get round the flank or reduce him enough to make it viable)?

Cheers Rex

No penalty at all if the game runs to 24 turns (12 turns each) or more. Proportionate reduction in score to the timed out player (see below) if less turns are played.

He who has the turns in his "My Turn" list longest.

It would be difficulty for the server to detect "turtling".

However turtling is an insane strategy given the scoring system, as a player would generally get a higher score for fighting hard and losing.

Thanks. That might be the clue we need to solve this issue.
