End of an Era
I just noticed the FOG 1 forum, after 9 years in the Latest Releases section, has been relegated to the Classic games A-Z. Almost 10 years of many many enjoyable MP games comp's campaigns etc, in a blink of the eye. (I was a young lad when I joined this forum, now I am all grey, vacant eyed and haggard) Look forward to 10 more with Fog 2! Vae Victus!

At 72, I'll cheerfully play 10 more years!
It keeps me 'young"

What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

Yes, time flies!
I've been on the matrix games forums since Distant Worlds came out, my children were young then, as was I (well younger).
It feel a part of my daily/weekly life, checking the forums etc etc.
My over riding memory was when "Jeeves" passed away. He was a Distant worlds Leviathon. His tips, tricks and tutorials on how to play DW was legendary. I think that affected a lot. Don't know why, but it did!

Re: End of an Era
I remember the old FOG forum and extremely active multiplayer scene. My Seleucid circus army defeated all who dared oppose them.
One thing I hope they add is something to tell me when I have turns waiting for me. I remember there was a simple little programme that you could run while browsing the web, and a message would pop up in the corner when you have a turn to take. Now, I have to run the game, log in, and refresh every so often.

Drat. It was a really great programme, because sometimes you are both online at the same time and it will really increase the rate at which people take their turns. Also, there are times when I turn on my laptop and if I don't have turns waiting, then I don't want to load up FOG II right away.rbodleyscott wrote:Not that I know of.grumblefish wrote: Any plan to bring Systray back?
I don't get the notification emails, but at any rate I wouldn't want a bunch of alert emails that I'd need to delete.
