can you upgrade SE fighter unit?
I just got one of those SE figthy planes. It's one of an older model from the two I have available. The upgrade screen doesn't let me upgrade it... I seem to remember my SE tanks can be upgrade to a different model.

Which plane? afaik, we can upgrade SE units.

In Allied Corps and US Corps, there are upgrades for SE fighters (I think the UK can get to an SE Meteor, but definitely a Tempest).
Soviet Corps you can get a captured FW190, but with no upgrade path. Not sure about the others as I've been using modified equipment files and forgotten what's in the originals.

I assume you talk about that SE Fighter ?

SE Bf 109 G fighter with hero (+4 attack, +4 defense, +3 initiative). This reward appears the turn after you get the convoy transport units into zone ‘C’. Note that it cannot be upgraded unless you use the ‘all eqp’ cheat.
As you see this one is special and can not be upgraded, but SE Fighters usually can be upgraded, probably not to all Unit Types though
That said I never had a "randomly" awarded SE Plane (Fighter or Tac Bomber) in GC East or West
You can definitely can get some in Afrika Korps (Fighters and Tac Bombers), Allied Corps and US Corps (got only Fighter for the Brits and Yanks)
Not sure about Soviet Corps (personally I got only Tanks and they were very rare) and Operation Sealion (played it through only once)

It's just a standard 30% chance of getting an SE, SE. Got it in AK campaign.
I checked a unit table and I was wrong about new plane types being available... the other model type had a higher 'air attack' so I assumed it was a newer model but it wasn't. We'll see if real new planes type will appear at the upgrade screen when they unlock. So false alarm maybe?
