I wanted to ask this question on the Twitch stream yesterday, but my old iPad wasn't up to the task. Anti-missile missiles are the cornerstone of modern naval warfare defence but they don't appear present in the game. From watching the various preview replays on YouTube a high percentage of missiles fired hit their intended target. I know fighters, flak, and the guns can stop missiles in-game, but they don't seem that consistent or effective.
I'm not a big enough BSG fan to know what the canon forms of defence were, but I thought I'd just mention this.

There are PCM Ammunitions available, just nobody uses them wether they dont know they exist or are considered weak because they dont deal damage.

In fairness, you never see defensive missile fire in the show either. Even the Mercury class from 50 years in the future of this game still relies on flak.

Neither do you see them using missiles a lot, even in the Battle of the Resurrection Ship they don't use missiles.Ken Hagler wrote:In fairness, you never see defensive missile fire in the show either. Even the Mercury class from 50 years in the future of this game still relies on flak.
But they had 12 VLS Tubes, just never used them.
And that has the reason because the Cylons scramble the guiding systems of the missiles a lot.
But in the First War the Cylons are not that advanced and the ammunition is there, just none of the LP'ers uses it.
Instead, they gonna whine like EE that Battlestars are underpowered when they use them like shit.
And yeah I'm quite a salty atm because every YouTuber which plays Deadlock seems to be braindead and uses Battlestars like invincible tanks when they are a battleship/carrier hybrid, which should be protected by the smaller ships and should brawl from broadside under flak and viper cover in medium range.
Damn am I salty.

Yeah, got to agree, while I really appreciate the time people are taking to play through and record their sessions - something I could never be bothered to do - either they aren't doing the game justice as something that models sensible naval tactics, or the game is more on the arcadey side.
