Turn 82 - February 7, 1944

Fair weather came early and suddenly large German counterattack occured in France. Lots of good units involved, both ground and air.
Now I am not sure about the fate of Allied landing, might even lose all my forces in France.



Good news must be that most forces were taken from the Eastern front. Soviets successfully advance in several sectors and have enough PPs to build new heavy units every turn.



In Italy no Axis reserves left aswell - Germans are passive and slowly pushed back. One of Gustav line forts was taken this turn by US mountain corps.



In the West situation is problematic, but Allies do their best to hold defensive perimeted and destroy German units. Transports with reserves are on the way from USA.

Turn 83 - February 27, 1944

Bad weather meant little progress for Germans in France. Our units are good tech-wise, so they suffer high casualties when attacking.
Question is how German PP reserve is going. If we run out of PPs to repair our fighters, while Germans still have PPs, it will mean no air support and sure disaster.



Germans retreat in northern part of Eastern front, while south trying to hold even removing one bridgehead near Dnepropetrovsk.



After Allied turn couple of weakened German units were killed in France and defensive positions consolidated again. In Italy German corps holding Gustav line section was reduced to 3 steps.



Soviets defeated German forces near Dnepropetrovsk and crossed Dnepr north of Kiev.

Turn 84 - March 18, 1944

Germans achieved good progress in France this turn. Hole was made in the center of Allied defensive line, even British fighter airbase was overran by Axis ground forces. Its not that many German units in good fighting shape left there, problem is we have even less. Half supply against Axis full supply does not help either.



Eastern front: no counterattacks this time, just more retreats.



Something insteresting occured this turn - after Allies launched initial couple of airstrikes to soften up Germans in France it was spotted, that Luftwaffe stopped to intercept suddenly. German fighters are not on sentry, it means they are out of oil!
Well, it changes things a lot - strategic bombers were sent immediately to destroy both synth oil plants and Allied troops in all fronts engaged Axis with renewed energy. With oil income like 40 Axis simply can't retreat in the East and fight battle in the West at once - they will have to leave oil-consuming units behind.



In Italy Gustav line is collapsing. One section destroyed and another one going to follow soon. Allies launched transports to southern France, landing will be commensed Marseilles area.



Soviets crushed German resistance in the south, sector looks empty now. Dnepr was crossed south of Kiev and German forces in the center now facing threat of being surrounded. German units from the north retreated without problem and in good order though. Question is how many units there were and will it be enough to prepare new defensive line.



Offensive actions in Finland resumed too. Not much Finns can do against high tech Soviet troops now and its unlikely Germans will send any help.

What is this? Vokt starting to head towards a Morris type strategy?

Abandoned the Eastern Front in the winter of 43/44 and rail everything you got to France to wipe the allies off the continent in a first clear weather turn Spring 44 offense.

Looks like Vokt didn't bring enough forces to the West, a little bit short and then running out of oil. Yikes!

Vokt has to go re- study those Morris games.
Maybe he needs a bigger Luftwaffe?

It is a very good strategy!

Turn 85 - April 7, 1944

No matter poor oil situation, German attacks in France continue. Portion of Allied troops were cut off supply near Le Havre, their fate is uncertain now. Other units were killed, we are pretty low on troops here now.
Atleast good weather will allow to unload more than 2 units per turn now.



During Allied turn couple of forward German units were killed and frontline sort of restored in the West. Isolated units received supply - only naval for now, but thats something.
Looks like Axis can't send any reserves to southern France or Italy, meaning Allies are going to be victorious in those scenarios soon.



Good progress in the East aswell.

Turn 86 - April 27, 1944

Germans keep attacking no matter what, and we keep losing good units. Probably we are going to win, thanks to our air support and Axis oil issues, but Allies will be very short on troops when the time to advance into Germany comes.



More close combat in the West in Allied turn. Low strength units were repaired, while ones in good shape - used to attack exposed Axis forces.
Noteable even was also fall of Rome in Italy.



In the East continious Axis frontline stopped to exist in southern sector. Oil consuming units are being left behind there, as expected.
Infantry army in the center/north retreats without problem though, they are somewhere at Niemen now.



Joensuu taken in Finland. Might need more Soviet forces to close this campaign fast and move on.

Turn 87 - May 17, 1944

Axis offensive is finally broken in France. They killed couple of most exposed Allied units, but there were no attacks in other sectors and they start to regroup in defensive fashion. First retreating towards German borders units were spotted aswell.



Desperate counterattacks in the East killed Soviet corps near Kiev and isolated armour.



During Allied turn flanking move was attempted by American armoured near Limoges. Axis simple don't have continous frontline there and are exposed to this sort of things.



In the East many German units were overran between Kiev and Odessa. German motorised unit in Kiev was halved.
Strong defensive positions were spotted on Niemen. We can't attack that without regrouping, will take couple of turns.

Turn 88 - June 6, 1944

Yet another German attack occured in France, killing US armoured. That meaning out of our large Allied armoured force, landed in France, only British unit trapped near Le Havre surived.



So remaining few Allied units attacked aswell. Almost no kills were achieved, but remaining German units now have low strength and red morale and posess no threat.



Soviets meanwhile liberated Kiev and crossed Romanian border in the south. No sign of German defensive line there.
In the north Wehrmacht abandoned positions on Niemen, retreating further west.

Turn 89 - June 26, 1944

Yet again Axis launch desperate counterattack (probably no fuel to retreat properly anyway), killing US mech near Le Mans.



Allied turn - more Axis units killed. Noteable even was fast cature of Lyons in southern France. In Italy Florence was taken and in Romania fighting goes on around Bucharest.
German defensive line at Wisla finally spotted properly and it does not look that strong. South just empty all the way to Budapest atleast.

Turn 90 - July 16, 1944

This turn positions in Poland were abandoned too. Germans retreat all the way to Oder, where they will be forced to make a stand finally.
Minor counterattacks in Lyons area and in Florence, but its not like Axis now have any sizeable army in France or Italy. All remaining good forces are rallied at Oder and Western Wall, I guess.



Noteable even this Allied turn was seizure of Bucharest.
Regular fighting in France and Italy without any decisive result.

Turn 91 - August 5, 1944

Finally, Germans were not able to launch any counterattacks in West/South this turn. in the East Oder defensive line was manned properly from Stettin to Ostrava.



During Allied turn Budapest and Paris were taken. Allied armies entered poorly defended southern Italy and initial combats in Oder occured (without decisive result for now).

Turn 92 - August 25, 1944

Now Axis are in fully defensive mode, not a single attack.



During Allied turn Soviets achieved some progress - Ostrava was taken and bridgehead was formed near Breslau. Garrison holding Stettin was halved.
In the West fighting now goes around Brusseles, which going to be liberated next turn.
In Italy Turin was taken and Venice barely held.

Turn 93 - September 14, 1944

German counterattack killed Soviet armoured near Ostrava, another one picked shock unit near Posen. Bridgehead near Breslau barely held at 1 step.



It looks like Soviets are not likely to crush German defensive line at Oder before bad weather arrives, but we will keep attacking in winter.
In the West on the contrary there is virtualy no defensive line - just couple of garrisons around Arnhem.

Turn 94 - October 5, 1944

No counterattacks from the Axis this time.



Allied progress remains rather slow, considering how many forces they have against weakened German army. Most noteable success this turn was capture of Breslau by Soviets.

Turn 95 - October 25, 1944

This time Germans forces, which were about to be isolated south of Breslau, launched counterattacks, killing Soviet armoured and damaging number of other units.



In Allied turn counteroffensive was dealt with, one corps was isolated, while armour was killed.
Western Allies still struggle to capture Antwerp or make a hole in Siegfried line.
In the Alps Innsbruck was taken, opening road into southern Germany.

Turn 96 - November 13, 1944

Nothing from the Axis this time - they just hold current positions.



In Allied turn Antwerp and Munich were taken. Allied armies linked near the latter.

Turn 97 - December 3, 1944

Once more no offensive actions or retreats from the Axis.



In the West Siegried line was finally breached by British infantry. Even more importantly, Arnhem was taken, opening the road into Germany. It looks like there are no German forces all the way to Hamburg from here.
Soviets meanwhile engaged in heavy fighting, not many units were killed, but several were badly battered.

Turn 98 - December 23, 1944

This turn German mech killed US mech NE of Arnhem. What supposed to be last remnants of Luftwaffe supported operation.



Just more Allied progress everywhere, but nothing special. As soon as fair weather arrives, German positions going to crumble really fast.

Turn 99 - January 12, 1945

Red Army crushed German resistance in Oder finally, Berlin was reached and ready to be attacked on the next turn.
In the West Allies secured Ruhr area and advance east facing no opposition.

Turn 101 - February 1, 1945

And Berlin was taken by the Soviets. Germans still hold Hamburg though, meaning no surrender yet.
