Vienna and other observations

Post by Smirfy »

I have been fooling around with the 1805 myself in the hotseat mode and have noticed a capitulated Austria really causes a hinderance to the French with Vienna and its exclusion zone bang in the middle of their axis of advance (and retreat). The French tend to reach their manpower quality threshold a few turns in. I also think rivers should also be more of an obstacle except at fords . I'm not quite sure also that the scenario is balanced, think letting Austria succumb and poucing when Prussia enters the war is pretty viable strategy. Perhaps supply should have more effect the further and the more units are from their borders.

Love the weather which is a really good feature can really interfere with your plans.

Another obsevation is the German states have no Army so can be conquered by Prussia in one turn

Yeha, it is hard designing a system where the vassal get to deploy units but also that the land is not a hindrance, I did not find any better solution yet :)
