@zombo:
1. winter issue: good, if you saw "German offensive halted" you must have had the winter map.
2. yes please, check the game turn number in your game vs. Argentum
3. Influence:
The D100 roll is made EVERY TURN against the INFLUENCE value shown on the diplo screen.
The value shown is the TOTAL of all INFLUENCE you have spent on that nation, either by actively clicking on the "INFLUENCE" button or by random distribution when clicking on "CHOOSE NONE" on the choose events screen.
Example: if the INFLUENCE value shown is 23, then you have a 23% chance per turn to positively affect that nation's alignment.
You can lose INFLUENCE if the enemy nation is leaning toward your enemy OR if your enemy has won the annual morale check event happening in January each year ("CP/ENTENTE confident").
The % success chance will be modified by the number of INFLUENCE your enemy might have spent on that nation.
If your enemy has spent INFLUENCE on that nation, your % chance will be lowered by the difference of both INFLUENCE values.
If your enemy has spent MORE INFLUENCE on that nation than you, you cannot influence that nation at all.
Example: CP have spent 50 INFLUENCE on Greece, ENTENTE has spent 30 INFLUENCE on Greece. CP chance to influence Greece is 20% (50 minus 30).
If the check is successful then the default alignment shift (which is about 0.2 per turn) of the nation will be multiplied by √number of INFLUENCE spent minus enemy INFLUENCE spent (if any).
Example: you have spent 36 INFLUENCE and the D100 roll is equal or lower than 36. The default alignment shift (0.2) will be multiplied by 6 (√36), resulting in a shift of 1.2.
The result will be favorable modified if:
- your side has spent more than double the INFLUENCE than your enemy on that nation
- your side has won the annual morale check event
The total bonus multiplier can get as high as 2.
So the maximum alignment shift you could theoretically achieve is a 100% chance for 4 alignment points per turn.
If a nation is leaning toward your enemy then a successful check will stop that nation shifting toward your enemy for that turn or will minimally shift that nation's alignment toward your alliance. Therefore don't expect more than a delay when, for example as Entente trying to INFLUENCE very pro-CP nations like Bulgaria, especially if the CP player has also spent INFLUENCE.
Same goes for CP trying to influence US for example.
If a nation is leaning toward your own side, then a successful check will shift that nation's alignment toward your own alliance.
@nehi
- Yes, I am sure: the Race to the Sea event was rewritten for MP to NOT happen anymore DURING the turn in MP. If your game is still crashing during replay that means that Race to the Sea is NOT the reason for the crash.
@all: do the newsflash-popups appear during replay at all? You know, the ones with the sounds of telephone ringing or morse code?

turn 11, replay crashes when an Entente ship next to Antwerp moves to the West.yes please, check the game turn number in your game vs. Argentum
Don't you want to set up a test MP game to have some firsthand experience on how things go?
you mean the events popups? such as German advance halted etc?@all: do the newsflash-popups appear during replay at all? You know, the ones with the sounds of telephone ringing or morse code?
Re: POTZBLITZ V4.76 (beta), JUL 6th 08:25 PM MET
NO! The ones like this here (there are others for AH howitzers deployment and Russian code broken etc.) Do these show in the replays? If so, which ones? I have a notion that these could break flow of the replays.Zombo wrote:you mean the events popups? such as German advance halted etc?@all: do the newsflash-popups appear during replay at all? ANOTHER QUESTION: HAVE YOU SEEN THE "SEA MINES" EVENT TRIGGERED AT ANY TIME DURING A REPLAY?

so far i remember i havent seen any messagebox event in mp (or this one can be that issue)
i havent seen sea mines too
my second game (me as entente) just reached winter, lets see if zombo will be able to make next turn
(loading winter map has messagebox too)
Re: POTZBLITZ V4.76 (beta), JUL 6th 08:25 PM MET
I don't recall seeing any of these popups during replay
sea mines, I think I saw it once, but can't say for certain. I'll pay attention to it.
Played my winter turn vs Nehi, no crash

then we just made 2 full winter turns in a rowZombo wrote:I don't recall seeing any of these popups during replay

but i havent seen german offensive halted, even they dont own a single hex in france...
it looks its better dont even start it than own all fortresses and threaten paris
Re: POTZBLITZ V4.76 (beta), JUL 6th 08:25 PM MET
I know, the events are tailored for Schlieffen, they have to be reworked a bit ( the event even said, if I'm not mistaken, that the German armies were in full retreat or something)but i havent seen german offensive halted, even they dont own a single hex in france...
Re: POTZBLITZ V4.76 (beta), JUL 6th 08:25 PM MET
but we both have chosen ruprecht? just u didnt move to the west but sent all to the eastZombo wrote:I know, the events are tailored for Schlieffen, they have to be reworked a bit ( the event even said, if I'm not mistaken, that the German armies were in full retreat or something)
these plans should declare war on belgium or suiss automatically, it reminds me thermopylae
(problem is, they can be chosen when germans ar not at war...)

Re: POTZBLITZ V4.76 (beta), JUL 6th 08:25 PM MET
Well, the main aim for war plan Rupprecht is still of course to defeat France. Just because you decide to do "Sitzkrieg" (phoney war) there does not free you from the consequences of failing to meet your objectives.Zombo wrote:I know, the events are tailored for Schlieffen, they have to be reworked a bit ( the event even said, if I'm not mistaken, that the German armies were in full retreat or something)
For 4.77 I've rewritten Rupprecht:
3 garrisons are removed from the West and Germany gets PP as compensation.
Both artys are now pointed at the Swiss border fortress to emphasize the flanking attack through Switzerland.
Rupprecht is denied to be used anywhere else than in the West.
DOW on Switzerland now happens automatically in turn 3.
French morale loss is doubled for losing border fortresses and Germany gains bonus diplo points for taking those.
Loss of French border fortresses moves Britain closer to war.
- fixed SP crash reported by Argentum
- fixed strange "no event" bug for German defeat in France
I've also installed a multitude of checks to trace that replay crash bug and defused stuff that could lead to instability.
Upload at 6PM unless you have more suggestions.

it was written to my successful offensiveRobotron wrote:Well, the main aim for war plan Rupprecht is still of course to defeat France. i owned like 1/4 of france in turn 11
all fortresses, dijon, reims and amiens - suiss had just sankt maurice
every turn i got new hexes...
for all that germans got 2 collapse points
in contrary sitzkrieg maybe no one? zombo what about your germans?
aiming both arties to suiss fortress will stop german quick advance, no bombing ports, ruprecht will be obsolete then
Re: POTZBLITZ V4.76 (beta), JUL 6th 08:25 PM MET
That shows that the original war plan Rupprecht is way to easy for CP and could be deemed to be "optimal".nehi wrote:i owned like 1/4 of france in turn 11
Zombos Sitzkrieg would have earned him 3 collapse points.

@nehi: just take Verdun, it will count as stalemate then and you will suffer no collapse points IF you managed to capture Warsaw too (or 1 if you did not).

i have taken verdun in like 5th german turn, when zombo left just corpses there (scroll down to see 2 collapse points)Robotron wrote:@nehi: just take Verdun, it will count as stalemate then and you will suffer no collapse points.
btw. zombo used austrian howitzers in feb 1915 on the eastern front
Re: POTZBLITZ V4.76 (beta), JUL 6th 08:25 PM MET
@nehi: all changes will of course only be available in 4.77.
@Zombo: AH howitzers in 1915???? shame on you, you EVIL POWERPLAYING CHEATER.

russia is doomed anyway, they would have problems usually, but with all that reinforcements from the west front i havent set up line of defense even for a single moment
supply crisis just started
some events just stay in pool, as gott strafe england when there is no more england (if u havent solved it)
italia is still gaining collapse points as mad when cp

Re: POTZBLITZ V4.76 (beta), JUL 6th 08:25 PM MET
what??? Where???@Zombo: AH howitzers in 1915???? shame on you, you EVIL POWERPLAYING CHEATER.
vs Nehi Ruppercht Sitzkrieg I have 3 collapse points by now. However, I got the "CP confident" event which is justified considering situation in the East but a little incompatible with the idea of 3 collapse points.
Out of winter, I was surprised by the "mud" event which immobilizes a number of units - btw, I guess that also translates into a huge combat penalty... which does not appear on the combat prognosis...aouch!
It's an excellent idea, but is it possible, to reduce the movement points of the units, rather than immobilizing some and not affecting others? it can lead to some weird results.

in feb 1915 poped up that event, at novo gorgievsk i guessZombo wrote:what??? Where???@Zombo: AH howitzers in 1915???? shame on you, you EVIL POWERPLAYING CHEATER.![]()
