Well done Gentlemen,
flying columns with lace blowing manfully in the breeze and poodles held high will strike fear into the rebels. Our sartorial elegance will cause them to tremble, especially the snappy lime green uniforms.
The King thanks you and wishes you God-speed and good fortune,
Andre Devereaux, The Duke of Cornwall

Re: ECW Campaign 2017 Royalist Line of Communication
Brent and I have tried to beat a standard parliamentary army with Royalist Raiders, and its been a disaster both times ( I lost 43% to 0%, Brent is doing very slightly better)
The cavaliers simply can't handle pike and shot unless the pike and shot are either disrupted by shooting or charging from behind a flank while the pike and shot are pinned frontally. The Raiders don't get any pike and shot of their own and only 4 musketeers so they are unlikely to disrupt many before getting blown away and unlikely to win hand to hand while cavaliers get in position to charge the flank. Just charging the pike and shot frontally is very unlikely to cause a disruption.
I therefore suggest any one using a flying column should choose the standard army and buy some pike and shot (but no more than 49% of the armies units).
Good luck to Snuggles and TGM.......kick those rebel butts all the way to Heaven or Kent, whichever comes first.

Oi! I think you'll find that Snuggles IS one of those rebel butts that need kicking, (and if he's reading this they're cheating!!), and you should be wishing me luck instead! Re: ECW Campaign 2017 Royalist Line of Communication
Hi GDOD, little confused on me and Danny's battle
If I understand correctly, I have 1300 points vs 1000 but I MUST chose reinforce (me) as battle type
I , however have the choice of terrain...
If above is correct, the next battery of questions is:
is this the stage where we declare what armies we want to use? Some what awkward to have to sort that out before you can even issue s challenge...
As I am using a raider force, can I simply use any force yet make sure the cavalry ratio is per the rules?
Should the "attacker" declare his army ist and then the defender get to pick next?

I've made it clearer through Ulysis's question in the common thread TGM. In the clear light of day (rather than the late hours after slaving at life) I should have advised that it is aTheGrayMouser wrote:Hi GDOD, little confused on me and Danny's battle

attacker 'send flank march' battle you have 1050 + 200 (not 180 as advised
Thus, you have to issue a challenge of send flank march, 1st player royalist, wide, terrain your choice, any list from royalist options (see rules on page 3 for choices of army lists), change to default, change points to attacker 1200/ defender 1000) and may God have mercy on your souls!
To recap Best if you issue the challenge as you are attacking and you can use any royalist list noted in the campaign rules - it doesn't have to be royalist raiders!

Re: ECW Campaign 2017 Royalist Line of Communication
Hi all clear except my prior last point
Unlike FOG I cannot issue a challenge with my army, and then let Danny pick his army when he accepts challenge , I will need to input it...
To save time and rules lawyering, probably best, ironically to have a rule, maybe : Attacker declares his army and then Defender advises his own so attacker can set the match... or vice versa..
Some would argue choosing second gives an advantage, others might say it matters not... For the gamemaster god's ( or GDOD'S) to decide I fear
