Patch for order of BAttle
I'm having problems with playing the US Pacific Campaign. On the 13th turn the US AI does not complete the turn.
It gets hung up.
I saw a link to a patch that no longer exits. Can someone help me.
Thanks Dan

What mission, where exactly? Im guessing it is Pearl Harbor, right?PWRS wrote:I'm having problems with playing the US Pacific Campaign. On the 13th turn the US AI does not complete the turn.

Post your savegame, dxdiag etc as a zip attachment.
Here's how.

Also, your game version should be 2.99. If not, update it. Also, it could be system specs. This game is greedy.
But best post your savegame, if the issue persists after updating.
Re: Patch for order of BAttle
Andy: how do I check to know if I have version 2.99?
And you are correct, it is on the Pearl Harbor, when I play the Campaign game.

Re: Patch for order of BAttle
The game version number is displayed in the bottom of the game main screen.
Re: Patch for order of BAttle
I just looked, I have version 2.96d
Is there a newer version?
Is there a newer version?
Re: Patch for order of BAttle
Yes, obviously. 2.96d is an earlier build than 2.99. Numbers go higher with each patch.PWRS wrote:I just looked, I have version 2.96d

Here is a thread with download mirrors.
http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 64&t=75105
(I assume this is not the steam version, which updates automatically.)
I am also not sure whether you have to install every single patch or just the one to the current version and be done with it.
Hope this helps. Please tell us if this has fixed things for you.
Re: Patch for order of BAttle
Andy: sorry I have been away for a few days. I down loaded the 2.99 patch and all I get when I launch it is a blank map of the Pacific. Sorry for being stupid, but is there someone who can help me?
Re: Patch for order of BAttle
Okay, the game starts fine, right? You mean you can access the savegame, but it wont load properly to your old setup, units etc, right?PWRS wrote:Andy: sorry I have been away for a few days. Have you tried restarting the mission or campaign?
You must be a bit more specific - blank map of the Pacific can mean anything.
Also, there is a tech support forum.
http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=372
But maybe we can fix this here. Just add a bit more detail.
Re: Patch for order of BAttle
Hi Andy I have been away again for about a week. I still can not get my Game to update. Is there someone I can call to help me. It's most likely my fault. I'm probably doing something real stupid. I have Order of Battle Pacific and Marines and Blitzkreig.
Re: Patch for order of BAttle
So, you dont have the Steam version, right? (Which updates automatically)PWRS wrote:Hi Andy I have been away again for about a week. I still can not get my Game to update. You have downloaded the patch and applied it (run the file)?
Please describe your problem with the most detail you can muster. Two lines and some vague references are a bit weak.
Slitherine has an email helpdesk here, http://www.slitherine.com/support/
but they will most likely need a lot more details as well.
Marines and Blitzkrieg run fine, but the US Pacific campaign stalls on Turn 12 in Pearl Harbor?
Re: Patch for order of BAttle
Andy I managed to fool around with the patch and tried something different and I think it worked. so I think I'm okay now. On another subject, I would like to learn how to down download and play some of the other scenarios, and well as learn how to create my own. Is there any one on the forum you would suggest I reach out to?

Good news. Enjoy!PWRS wrote:Andy I managed to fool around with the patch and tried something different and I think it worked. so I think I'm okay now. There are a ton of scenarios and campaigns here: http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 74&t=65107
and guides here: http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 74&t=70345
Erik is the custom content person. But check out the Scenario Design Forum (on top, below tech support) to find everything and everybody involved.
Re: Patch for order of BAttle
Thanks for the links, I will check them out.
I started playing Order of Battle Pacific yesterday, and started with Pearl Harbor and went all the way to the start of Okinawa. I've noticed that there is now where near as many resource points to buy ships and land units. So I would have available units and no points. I've played the older version many times before. I'm not sure if it was a bug in the program, but something is not the same. Did they change the allocation of resource points on the new 2.9.9 version?
Also I noticed a thread that discusses manually cheating and increasing the qty of points or resource points or units. I was able to bring up the screen by pressing shift +C , and I can enter a new qty but nothing ever changes. Is this cheat only available for custom designed senarios?

Re: Patch for order of BAttle
One other question:
When I'm playing the campaign game, at the end of a particular battle, we get points for Technological Advancement. I have been trying to win the Battle and also maximize the number of Enemy destroyed Units. So instead of winning by turn 20, I would try to eliminate all enemy units and win by turn 30. What is the criteria for awarding of points for the technological tree? Would I receive a greater number of points if I wrapped up the primary victory conditions faster?

Re: Patch for order of BAttle
Usually the campaigns is set up so that you get a set number of spec points at the start of each scenario. It may vary from scenario to scenario.PWRS wrote:One other question:

I think the designer also may script events that award you with extra points.
Most specs have a certain entry date and they may be limited to certain nationalities as well.
So usually there is not much you can do to forward certain specs.
Re: Patch for order of BAttle
Cheats are available in campaigns and single player scenarios, but naturally not in multiplayerPWRS wrote:Thanks for the links, I will check them out.

Example:
#warbonds will give all factions on your side 500 resources each.
You can specify how many resources you get.
#warbonds -150 will remove 150 resources. Stuff like this is handy when you are testing a custom scenario.
There are a number of other cheat codes in this thread:

Re: Patch for order of BAttle
Erik: I tried last night to use the #warbonds and nothing happened.
Do I have to type in " #warbonds " or "#warbonds500 "?
Thanks Dan

Re: Patch for order of BAttle
Just #warbonds will give you 500 resources
Re: Patch for order of BAttle
I finally got it to work.
Thanks
