@Horst: That's a bit unfair, apples and oranges. OoB has 3d modeling and a supply system and so on. This takes up more time.
Still, I still kind of fear that Panzercorps 2 just makes everybody wonder why they should spend money on the next OoB DLC.

I know this comparison looks harsh, but it's the bitter reality. Panzer Corps uses 3d models for the 2d unit graphics too. No idea if they purchased them from a foreign company or made them all by themselves. Unity engine is an easy-to-use premade game development tool to quickly create games, so that's an advantage for OOB too. There is a reason why almost every low-budget company uses Unity these days.
Nevertheless, you can see that there was almost zero content in the first year after OOB release what most likely made ppl quickly loose interest. Offering only US and JP as main nations is another reason.

Okay, obviously you know a lot more about game development or the gaming industry than I do. Fair point.
BTW, I almost lost interest in OoB because it was so unstable back then and still is incredibly greedy for hardware. Also, some missions were just tedious slogs. 100 turns in Melbourne or Tokyo, anyone? Thank God that has improved markedly. It would just be a bit sad if Panzercorps 2 just curbstomps this franchise before it can really shine with Case Blue or Afrikakorps.

It doesn’t take only new units or terrain to offer more attractiveness, no matter if in 1, 2, 3 or 4D. More campaigns make a huge difference too, what PC has shown us so far.
I personally would have fun with something like a grand campaign in the Pacific for OOB too, but we mainly get only 12-mission tidbits so far for most nation-faction and move on to the next one.
I think the PC-GC hit nicely the nail by offering plenty small-medium sized missions in a row with some large maps as finale.
Someone new to the forum asked yesterday when he can finally play with the German Tiger and Panther tanks, so here we have what people are truly looking for: missions, preferably campaigns, with the coolest war machines of WW2. :)
Oh well, playing Battleship the next time in OOB will do too.
