WAYPOINTS DON'T APPEAR - And WHAT Second CD?

Post by designer1 »

Hi

Love the game. Have two questions:

1) Have just played about 20 battles or so. I notice that sometimes I can set waypoints as described in the manual, but other times Shift and click with a unit selected does nothing.

2) I saw some posts here involving problems with the second CD. I bought the boxed game from Strategy First in USA and it has only one CD. Is that correct?

Thanks in advance for replies.

As far as the 2nd CD thing, the Strategy First version is single language, and hence once requires 1 CD (this goes for the Atari Version also). Black Bean published a multi-lingual version in Europe, which encompassed English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. This required 2 CD's, as the movies required 5 different versions for the various languages.

Nothing to worry about, you haven't been conned :)

I'm not sure whats going on with the way points issue, Iain or Pip will be better placed to answer that for you. Glad your having fun with the game :-)

Thanks Ian - I appreciate the clarificaiton about the second CD. I didnt think I'd been scammed - sometimes packing mistakes can happen.
And, just so you guys and gals at Slitherine know, I have only recently discovered your company and I find I love your products. Compared to most computer wargames, that tend to be clickfests or that hide a lot of the data, yours are almost perfect for an old school grognard boardgamer like me who loves some good history mixed with a fun, playable system.

Glad you're enjoying yourself :)

The waypoints should always appear. Make sure you have a squad selected when you should click & not a waypoint. If you have a way point seleted & are moving it you'd need to select the squad again before setting another. It's a little bit awkward thinking abotu it.

It could also be you've hit your max. Only 5 waypoints per squad are allowed.
