How to create a pop up?

Hello - its me again!

My little game is coming on nicely, but I am having a problem understanding how the pop ups work. At turn 4, I have a trigger set that provides German reinforcements, I would like a pop up to appear telling the player that this has happened. I can't seem to find out how to do it. I can create the trigger for a pop up, but when I edit the text box, nothing happens.

Any help or ideas?

In Event Popup effect you add title and text you want. You should have image with the same image filename in the scenario folder. If message does not appear check at the bottom of effect who is set under "Recipients" (it is set to None by default). Target Hex or Unit is where message should centre screen when it appears.

Ok, thanks. I can get the pop up to appear now and have the title & text, but the picture is not shown. I have tried copying a picture from another scenario, and keeping the same file name, putting it in my folder for my scenario. But it still does not appear.
Can't think what else to try now.

It can be a typo. If you have image name written in format event_somename copy it from the editor and past to actual image name. Do not include file extension as part of the image filename in the editor. And the last and most probable reason is that you are tying to test it through Editor by launch scenario function. In this case it is normal for images not to appear. If you test it through singleplayer interface it should work.

If you test a scenario running it from the editor, images does not show in popup messages. Its a bug.
Also a game saved in this mode will probably corrupt the objectives when you reload it. Its a bug that I have reported a few times, but updates tend to wake the bug up again.

Ok that was it. All the testing has been from the editor, I have just tried it from the main menu & the pictures appeared.
