Is there seriously no erase function when adding stuff?
Somehow, there's a sea hex in the middle of my inland map....
... now I know I can at least overwrite that with "clear" but if I'd accidentally added a railroad hex when I'm doing my road network, I'm guessing I'd be screwed.
You can add with one mouse button and take away with the other, at least for railways, rivers and roads flags, markers etc. I often have to erase road and rail because I forget which is which.
For actual terrain hexes, Shift left can fill a big area with one type of terrain - I'm reasonably sure it doesn't over-write hexes. Unfortunately, deleting a hex doesn't undo, merely leaves a blank. Over-writing can leave a hex with a different terrain type and name. Fortunately this is not too hard to fix using the strings, but it is a bit clunky.
In case the (potential) Panzer Corps 2 dev team are looking, it works OK but a few improvements (including a cut and paste function) would make it faster and easier to use.
One of the problems, I'm having with Panzer Corps (this includes playing) is that the manuals just haven't kept pace with the updates. one of the first warnings in the edit manual is "there is no undo". I also found it totally inadequate in terms of a walkthrough especially in comparison with this....
You will master the editor soon. Just keep making maps and exploring and you will realize all the tricks to ease the map creation process.
Keep it up!.
