An interesting question

Post by Ninthplain »

Hello all,

IN last nights games this situation happened and we are wondering if it was played correctly.

A battlegroup of Elephants was in pursuit of a group of knights that had broken. To the left of this pursuit a group of bowmen broke and fled at an angle that put them in front of the elephants. On the pursuit roll for the knights and the elephants, the elephants hit the bowmen group which in the JAP phase had successfully rolled very low. What happens?

We played it that the bowmen lose a stand to the elephants hitting them, and the elephants are now pursuing the bowmen allowing the knights to contiune their route unmolested. Was this correct?

I suspect that Terry may not have fully read the question.

The elephants will pursue the knights and if the bowmen end up in the way they will hit the bow but the bow will only lose a base if they are routing from combat with the elephants. Otherwise when it comes to the JAP the bow will flee from the elephants who may pursue (CMT to stop pursuit dependent) and if the elephants remain in contact with the bow then they will lose a base.

But any routers who remain in contact with pursuers lose a base. If both moved in the JAP that is what happened. (The elephants did not contact the bow in the movement or impact phase). The bow therefore lose a base.
