Japanese Grand Campaign Export/Import
I am playing the Japanese Grand Campaign and found the thread on how to export/import your core forces:

However when I go to my unit list I don't have an export button. Please help?

Re: Japanese Grand Campaign Export/Import
Which campaign are you playing right now? Morning Sun (Japan vs China)?
Note that the export button is only available on the campaign screen, not during a scenario.

Morning Sun at the end of the last scenario.

Ok, figured it out. I had to double click on the icon for core forces to bring up my forces at the end of Morning Sun campaign and the Export button was visible. Exported the forces then when I started Rising Sun it asked if I wanted to import core forces.

Re: Japanese Grand Campaign Export/Import
I can NOT figure this out, I waited till I finished the last scenario, and I am not getting an export button. I also do not have the two linked at the top like the demonstration provided. Can anyone suggest what I may be doing wrong?

Is there any chance you can send us a screenshot of what your screen looks like? If you own both Morning Sun and Rising Sun, then you should see the linked campaigns.
Then, when you finish Morning Sun (vs the Chinese) you should be able to export your Core.
Can I also check what version of the game you're running? 2.9.9?
Thanks
Re: Japanese Grand Campaign Export/Import
Hi
I also have a problem transferring my core forces. At the end of Morning Sun (Major Victory / Total Victory):
1. I select the Imperial Japan Army from the Army Cores menu
2. use the "Export Core"-button (tried both from the "Reserve Units" list and the "Alive Units" list, both are identical)
3. select a filename for the save
4. I then press [Esc], go back to the main menu (there are no other options, except doing a Ctrl-Alt Del)
5. I start the Rising Sun campaign, it tells me there are core units to import
6. I select the saved file (the load screen says it has "0 units" and "0 value")
7. Played the 1st Morning Sun mission with the basic units (thought I wasn't allowed to use core units, since they didn't show up for deployment, even though I had 6 Air Command pts available)
8. After victory = no core units available (either in the 1st or 2nd Rising Sun mission)
9. Then finally figured out that all my previous core units now are listed as "dead" => they seem to have died during the save operation from "Morning Sun" (where they were all alive and well during the final turn
)
My conclusion: there is a bug somewhere ... (at least I hope there is, and I am not meant to use all my previous core units for resurrection...)
Luckily I have the autosave from the last turn (when I win the Morning Sun campaign), so I can redo the export units again. At some point where I can get them transferred alive ...
And the version is 2.9.9

Re: Japanese Grand Campaign Export/Import
Ok, seems that the core units being dead (or shall we say "disbanded") is how it is supposed to be. At least according to the mighty internet. I can understand this feature (having the units available for buying at -70% experience level) from some sort of balance perspective, but personally I would prefer a Panzer Corps-type continuation of core units. It is not quite the same thing having to resurrect them, and 30% of max experience is just a little bit more than having the "one star" option for new units (one star = 2000 exp, 30% of 10000 exp = 3000 exp).Graavarg wrote: My conclusion: there is a bug somewhere ... But ... no bug, just me not understanding that they are supposed to transfer as "dead".
