Hi all,

The game is great as of 1.0.2 - but the one thing I'm missing compared to other turn-based titles I played is a better chance to watch the action.

For example on my attack orders, I always have the action grid of the unit in view. I don't get a "clean" screen view of the shots which would sometimes be nice to have.

Obviously there's no chance to replay a sequence either. And unless I'm mistaken (can't try right now) the camera locks after the attack order is given.

On enemy turn, the camera locks to the enemy unit and doesn't always offer the best angle.

I think a perfect feature, but maybe complicated to add, would be a cinematic view of any shot that kills a squad or mech unit. I.e. after giving the attack order (if the game already knows the target unit is going to die) the camera would zoom in/near/ground level and give us a "kill view". Something like Fallout popularized for first person games. Of course if every shot is dice-rolled at the time of firing that doesn't work. In that case another option might be to have a button that replays the last shots or melee?

The visuals of the title are much better than I initially expected - screenshots and youtube don't do it justice - but the way that we can't really get a cinematic view of the action kinda is a shame.

Its a nice idea. In the next patch you'll have much more camera freedom to get down to a soldiers eye view. This gives us some cool angles we could use but still would be a fair bit of work to use them properly. I'll add to the wish list.

I suppose programming cinematic camera movement is hard. Maybe easier to make the replay button (i.e. the AI repeats all actions with exactly the same dice rolls) so people can use their own camera positions. I loved in CMBB how we could replay a turn as often as we liked to see everything.

The trailer/intro for the game show the visuals nicely. Cameras like that, with no action grid (maybe even with no HUD) would be awesome. Could also be a simpler option to remove a unit's control grid while they are firing.
