yes offensive will start soon - but in reality this game was lost long ago, the reason for a delayed start to the Russian European offensive is the very poor performance in Russian Labs which has just been dire

its bean a really fun game and a good lesson in the changes in v4, but if I had attacked earlier in Europe the Russians would have been decimated

I would have to say that this game has been the absolute worst I have seen for the Russian Labs, which given the Axis position was very unhelpful

Actually , I agree to Borger's idea which I asked same question onlast page . Yes , USSR's lab is usually slow . But if you can transport 50% of your USSR tac to Poland (also with same amount of FTR ) , Maybe you would make a breakthrough . As we know in this situation , Axis is not lack of pp nor oil . But Axis troops are not easily transfered from Med front or Persia front to east ( it will take them at least five turns with low effectiveness ), But you can move it within 2 turns ...... You have to take Berlin to win the war . Target Berlin should have the priority .

I see lots of Soviet PPs wasted on 4 rows of infantry units, sitting and doing nothing.
If Allies spend that PPs on tanks and bombers instead, they can break through weak Axis line in Europe without much problem (or at very least trade, draining German resources).

If you feel you can't win the war you can at least try to reduce the victory level as much as possible. Liberating London and Paris will help. If the Russians can pin the Germans in the east then the Allies should be able to get some progress in England and eventually France.

we do our best to make it a quick retake - mostly we are just focused on attrition of his PP base

Max has to shuffle a bit in the UK to kill a partisan and leaves Liverpool open



we want to use or UK para as we expect high losses but will take the risk - unfortunately its not ready, so we try with the US which has higher tech (hoping that improves survivability?) We get lucky with the drop and there is a small chance it might survive the counter attack - either way its more PP pressure



we also run some FTR sweeps in Russia which results in a little more PP pressure (no pics)

in morocco we get cut off as expected, we spent some time working this one out



but it doesn't work as one of our attacks is to successful and the ARM doesn't get to follow up east, still we didn't lose the air war and did our own little pocketting

elsewhere Max is retreating from the fight in Morocco as he probably wants the air cover against Russia - we also have lots of his troops rushing to garrison towns all over the map - we have been pretty unhappy with the partians given Max leaves everything empty, a bit like the labs, luck of the draw but not a great result

so Max has retired the entire Luftwaffe to defend Germany - we have a few repairs after an extensive air battle so only a few of hexes targeted, although we did finsih off that 1 step and its replacement after Max had re-established the line.

I think you are right focusing the main effort of the big Soviet offensive on the northernmost sector of Eastern front, that is, in Eastern Prussia. Your VVS strat allowed to see that there's no reserve forces opposing an advance to Berlin west of the Wisla river. On the other hand, Romanian front seems to be pretty impregnable.

arghh Max decides to retreat to better defense line



elsewhere its more of the same - mop up as Max retreats, flooding the med with units to slow our progress and we get a terrible FTR outcome in the UK

we really wanted Max to stand for another turn, still we go all out against the retreating units, we even leave a little bait to see if Max wants to take it



we also have a little campaign going in Finland

very strange turn from Max, he just repairs and reinforces Europe and the Med, maybe he is feeling a little pressure in Europe!

this turn we get a chance for our sneak attack as Max had to move the units into the defensive line, otherwise we just repair for the Russians
