They would have been squeezed into the corner by your charge in the pic from the last game, and quite possibly caught.
Doh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are right!! That makes a huge difference.....
I looked at the picture and was going to make this comment but if the front of the column was indeed kinked then it wouldn't have been a flank charge.

That said remember that if you turn and move you can only have one wheel and you can't contract. People definitley play fast and loose with light horse because that is what you could do in DBM. You can do some things in FoG you couldn't in DBM but also there are things that were OK in DBM that are definitely not allowed in FoG.
as described they moved in column and made a 180 degree about face. if so how would they have ended up with one stand kinked? the description of the move under the cmt table is "turn 180 deg with a SIMPLE advance before or after". a simple advance allows a wheel, but the stands should all be facing the same direction at the end of the move. none of the diagrams in the rule book show a kinked column. i am not that familiar with dbm movement rules so i don't know if that formation would be allowed under dbm when they about face after moving.

If a single element column wheels in FoG it will end up with a kink (see P23)

As to moving a column such that one base is kinked at the end of the move that is possible but the only one wheel limitiation is IMO highly significant and may well in this case have been a significant contributor to the light hrse being able to get away so easily.

Man, great reports. I´m still laughing.

I agree, this quote has to be the funniest thing ever. Made even funnier by the fact that I feel this way in at least 50% of my game; regardless of rule set.

Trouble finding the reports?

Post by batesmotel »

Are these reports still up on the site? I don't seem to be able to find them, even using the specific URL for the version of the page that didn't display correctly mentioned in an earlier reply in the thread?

Actually it does look as if the Britcon reports have gone missing. The various opponents army lists are still there but the actual Britcon reports are gone :?

http://www.madaxeman.com/match_reports_index.htm

They should all be aessible from here - I'm in the middle of a rather lengthy upgrade to the site at the moment so occasionally some links do get temporarily lost however.

It should be all new and sparkly in a week or so...
