Anyone worked on scenarios/campaigns for this area by chance?

With the editor you can create the illusion to be in North Africa :

I have a half-finished, large Torch scenario. But the unfortunate Vichy forces are stuck with 1940-type units. Maybe not too unrealistic after all...

Doesn't look that bad with the beaches everywhere!
Too bad the German units don't support the sand skin yet. Some proper desert skins for aircrafts would be nice too. Let's see what the next official content brings.

Glad to hear of all the activity, I admit to being a fan of this theatre of the war. Tan/pink for combat vehicles would be a nice option... unit variants named "Afrika Korps" or "BEF" or "Tropical"

We desperately need some desert terrain types to be able to use, something along the lines of:
wadis, impassible hexes, sand dunes (though beach works-ish), dry river beds, escarpment lines (like rivers)

In the meantime, yes, we will make do...

Terrain graphic is accessible in the "Order of Battle - WW2_Data\Content\Graphics\Terrain" folder.
Maybe it's only required to paint something as png-file and add a new terrain id in the Data\terrain.txt. Editing Chassis.txt is also required to add the movement costs. The dunes possibly only require a new texture for the green-hills.

I think you need to use some existing 3D terrain as a template. Adding a png-file could work in the editor.
Maybe some graphic wiz-kid can change the colour, structure etc.
Just guessing, these is way outside my limited competence :D
