Panzer Corps iPad opinions requested

Hi everyone,

I've been playing Panzer Corps for over a year on my PC and was thinking about getting an iPad so I had a more portable version. As I'll only really be using the iPad for Panzer Corps, I don't want a newer one so I've been looking on eBay and thought I might get an iPad 2 or iPad 3. The main difference I can see is that the iPad 3 has a superior resolution. As I have no experience with an iPad, I'm hoping there are a few people on here who can advise me on how well Panzer Corps looks and plays on both iPad 2 and iPad 3 and whether the increased resolution makes for an improved Panzer Corps experience. I know the improved resolution on my PC (I've played it on 1600 x 900 and now I play it on 1920 x 1080) makes a massive difference, but as I said I'm and iPad virgin so not sure if it's the same on the iPad.

Sorry if I've waffled on and thanks in advance for any opinions.

Well, here's the pros and cons. I play PzC on an iPad 4, which runs it just fine. There are a few thinking pauses while the AI plays, but they aren't too bad. You probably don't want to go slower than that though. The iPad 4 is also the lowest version that Apple still supports, such as with iOS 10.2, which you want for max enjoyment of the device. The PzC artwork isn't super-high resolution. It looks good when zoomed all the way out but gets pixelated quickly as you zoom in, same as on the PC.

I love the game and it is fun on the iPad, but now for the bad news. Slitherine doesn't beta test the iPad version so there are more bugs. Mostly cosmetic, but there are a few. Second, they have said they will not update it to support larger screen sizes. Third, it is much harder, if not impossible, to install mods.

Thanks for the information, proline. I'm only interested in using the iPad for Panzer Corps so not really bothered about the latest iOS et cetera. I was thinking that the game would probably work better on the older iPads with it being a few years old and don't want to spend a lot on a newer one just for Panzer Corps anyway. I use an old I Pad for Panzer corps when on Holiday, works fine for me, but then I do not try to link the PC and I pad games.

Thanks milliethedog, could you tell me which iPad you use? I wouldn't be linking the games either, I'd play a different campaign on the iPad.

Hi, I am just trying to find a charger (the old long type) to see what version it is, The back says Ipad 16GB only. it is not an Air and is at least 4 to 5 years old !

the game is perfect for ipad . i like playing in my bed with my ipad air 1

but no mods (the best is europe mod) , and the game take more than 1 giga.

Just started to play PanzerCorps this past December with the IOS version (no play experience on PC). No issues with me on my Ipad3. But I have nothing to compare it with but liking the game alot.
