You still have the old map files it seems. Which date do you have on map50_nogrid.png in image/backgroundnames and image/background?
Re: Duncan vs Supermax 4.0 charlie (no Supermax please)
Also going back in the AAR your map is the previous version because your map does not line up to the ww2.map file in the scenario folder inside the application.

The dates are correct. Are you sure the correct files are in the correct subfolders? They need to be in \image\background and \image\backgroundnames.
Do you now have any *.dat files in those 2 folders. If yes then please remove them. Also check start-up file so it starts your GS v4.00 folder structure and not a different folder structure?
Do you have GS v3.1 and GS v4.0 side by side?

Re: Duncan vs Supermax 4.0 charlie (no Supermax please)
files are in the right place, I have 4.0 "over" 3.1 so only one file set (having copied each file over the old)
I don't have any dat files just PNG and 1 DS Store file

Re: Duncan vs Supermax 4.0 charlie (no Supermax please)
start up should be correct because I get the right launch screen with GS4 on it - not that I really understand which file you mean?
Re: Duncan vs Supermax 4.0 charlie (no Supermax please)
Tunis falls which was annoying as we lost our SUB in port

we also lost the Malta fighter to another set of good rolls - looks like its going to be one of those games!
elsewhere the Axis SUB's are hovering around the Atlantic loop sinking a transport whilst we fail to catch the Axis sneak transport we hit in the altantic, small bonus is we found the German DD and where able to sink it with a Carrier sortie
I need to have a bit of a think strategically - normally I would rate my chances at keeping Spain put of Axis hands but Max just has so long to make it happen that I am not sure its a good idea to go hard at that

should I be deleting some file outside of the game folder?Stauffenberg wrote:The dates are correct. Are you sure the correct files are in the correct subfolders? They need to be in \image\background and \image\backgroundnames.

If you don't get any *.dat files then that means the map you're using is not in the folder you think. Try to search for map50_nogrid.dat on the disk you have GS v4.0 installed. Check where you find these files. You can't show any map tiles unless those dat files are created. So I have a feeling you're actually using a different folder.
Can you please tell what the main folder for GS v4.0 is called for you? Remember it must be the same folder as where CEAW was installed.
For me the folder is called: ...\Slitherine\Commander - Europe at War

Did you scan for the dat file and did you find it somewhere? Do you also have the ...\image\backgroundnames folder?
If you look at the startup icon for GS v4.0 can you check the path of the executable and the directly it's supposed to start in?
For me the values are:
Target: "D:\Slitherine\Commander - Europe At War – v400\jre\bin\java.exe" -Xss16m -Xms400m -Xmx800m -classpath . CEAW 14100"
Starts in: "D:\Slitherine\Commander - Europe At War – v400"
Notice that I have altered the name for the main directly by adding - v400. I did this to have parallell versions up and running at the same time. You probably don't have that and don't even need it.

I seriously doubt that you will be able to keep Casablanca. Once the Axis comes in full force to Western Africa in 1940, it's very very hard to stop them.
What unit did you lose in the transport?
