Fragmented battlegroups and movement

Post by Ninthplain »

Hello all,

This question came up in a game last night.

You have a BG of 6 fragmented cav facing bow. The cav owner wanted to get this group out of harms way, what are your options?

We looked in the book and couldn't find what you are able to do.

The options for the cavalry are rather limited.

They might be able to get away by passing a CMT and then making a 90 turn and move.

Alternatively but also needing a CMT (it is a simple move but does not end up further from the enemy) they could turn 180 and hope not to break from shooting in the next two shooting phases then run away.

The perfect solution would be for the BG of light foot you have handy for just this situation to interpenetrate through the cavalry and for them to take the shooting.

Did you look at the table at the bottom of page 114?
Fragmentation does not affect movement except to require a CMT for some otherwise simple moves.
