unit sizes

Post by ravenflight »

Hi All,

Something that I think is a problem with the rules is the way most foot are in 6's, yet some can be opted into 8's. I think that this is a huge advantage. It may be mitigated by the possible change to 'everyone get's to autobreak at >50%' but as it stands right now, I think getting rid of the option for troops to be in 8's would be a good thing.

Just a bit of a vague comment I'm putting out there for discussion.

As promised a comment :D

The use of 8's was carefully thought about when we did the original lists. I was happy with what we did then and am still happy now.

I am sorry I do not consider "we were smart when we did the lists in the 18th century" a viable argument.

There is a wrinkle that does feel right about 8s versus 6s in out of period fights. What to do about them that doesn't create other issues is another kettle of fish.
