Mixed BG in Melee - POA question
The rules state that 2nd rank bases use the same net POAs as the front rank. Does this also apply to mixed BGs where the second rank is a different armor class, has different weapon capabilities etc.?

Short answer: yes.
Slightly more elaborated answer: yes, until the front rank base fails a death throw and goes home, which causes the old second rank to become the new front rank for that file . . . .

Same subject different question
Same subject different question.
I was having some difficulty in taking out some superior auxillary with lancers and to make their next charge more effective wanted to charge him in the rear with light javelinmen. His rear rank being LI bow and as he was being charged to front by lancers. I know that they would not require to drop a level but would the LI rank turn to face assuming that the LI could charge the rear/LI or as my oponant suggested that the Bg was MI therefore I could not charge at all. At the very least I would have liked the fighting to two faces poe. We decided as the battle was already going my way not to proceed with the charge at all.
Bye the way any army with an allowed third rank I would always include them as they saved their unit on many tests due to increase in numbers from shooting and adding the extra dice in combat were very effective.

Re: Same subject different question
LF only count as skirmishers if in BGs entirely of LF. Mixed BGs are non-skirmishers, so LF cannot charge them (even in the flank/rear) in open terrain.Evamike wrote:Same subject different question.
