What a game. Eminently playable! OOB WWII has just reached another milestone in playability. A fine balance in making "blitzkrieg" scenarios that offer a challenge to the player. This is the ultimate WWII game in terms of appearance, immersion, and just plain fun.
I am playing at the Major [middle] difficulty level. First Poland scenario was quite easy to beat [NOTE: the "Destroy bunker in 3 turns" objective does not show what the "reward" is for achieving it in the objectives panel]. After that, it gets tougher. I had to play the Warsaw and then the Norway scenarios a few times. Now, I am bogged down in the Belgium scenario. Have had to restart several times ... I think I have it beat now ... time will tell. Great care has been taken in developing these scenarios to make them interesting.
I just love this game. The Pacific campaigns are all splendid - would love to see a "Grand Campaign" devised for the US, like has been done with the 2 Japanese campaigns - now, with Winter War & Blitzkrieg the Western theater is getting the OOB treatment. Each patch improves the game - this one featuring an all-new specializations feature as well as a Core Forces import ability - not to mention the new DLC.
Cannot wait to have all of WWII playable in the OOB format. Great job, Developers! Keep it up!
Thumbs Up To Blitzkrieg!!

I've got that one next. Just completed the encirclement of Kiev by linking the three towns and the russians are trying to break out.
Anything awaiting me at moscow that I should start planning for now?

It's hard to plan anything, enjoy the game.
My only advice - minimize losses, save resources.

Re: Thumbs Up To Blitzkrieg!!
*Spoiler Alert*
That Moscow scenario is really the highlight of the entire DLC, it was really tense. It really made me feel agitated, but in a good way. Even from the beginning you knew they didn't really want you to take Moscow, also already seeing that some of your already owned towns have secondary objective flags, even though there is no objective for it just yet.
Still you are able to make decent progress, and could even make it to the outskirts, even through all the artillery fire and all the infantry and tanks you get there. You still have hope, maaaybe 2nd Panzer will magically appear at the bottom of the screen there as reinforcements. You still have more than half the turns remaining, if this keeps up, the war will be over before new year!
And then there is the first counterattack message, still you are tasked to take Moscow, no problem i'll just relocate some of my forces. Then comes the second counterattack....and then you run out of requisition points. And no reinforcements come (obviously). The counterattacks are not that bad, but it was obvious i was never gonna take Moscow anymore. And still i think it was possible, i feel that given you have enough points to repair, and (maybe magically) know where the artillery is, and sacrifice your air units with the sole purpose of taking them out, i feel it might be possible to take it, just maybe. I might just give it another shot. =P
Still great DLC, can't wait for the next one.

Re: Thumbs Up To Blitzkrieg!!
I just did it and Holy cow.
I managed to secure air superiority, and that made a world of difference. Had my stukas take out russian artillery and wear down their tanks. I took two of the objectives really quickly because I had massed all of my forces in the north.
After the counterattacks petered out, I did a flyover of moscow, and I'm pretty sure I could have taken it. Strength 1, 2, and 3 units everywhere. It wasn't an objective by that point anymore though, and I'm not sure if my forces would have been in any place to withstand the counterattack I assume would follow after I chewed through the remains of the moscow army.
I almost lost though when an attack came in the south. Had to rush all of my air assests down there to support the three units I had down there as speed bumps.
Crazy scenario! Can't wait to see how they handle the encirclement at Stalingrad.
