Trains

Post by Erik2 »

A train icon is already in the game, but only used while transporting units.
Why not make it generally available similar to trucks and horse transports?
It could useful in certain objectives. Currently you need to use low-strength armor trains and it simply does not look good.

Thanks

Edit: low-strength AI armor trains tend to build strength pretty fast, so they are not suitable.

A standard train unit similar to the truck or horse transport (which you can use like a regular unit without them transporting anything).
Useful in objectives like 'destroy 5 trains'. The armored train is not suitable for this.

Specifically I have converted a Pz Corps scenario Kampinoska Forest where the main objective is to destroy a number of Polish trains before they exit the map.
They are moving through a forest with a lot of rail lines and very few roads. So I can't substitue the trains with ie cargo trucks.

You can already do this Erik. If you had problems placing train icon on the map it could be because faction menu was active in the same time. In this case there is an area on the map that prevents icon placing.
