Coastal Gun Unit in Boot Camp

Post by guille1434 »

Hello:

I just tried the freely available Boot Camp Campaign in the Order of Battle series... I have one question that someone from the developers team or anyone with the knowledge could answer: I would like to know if the Coastal Gun unit graphic present in the first scenario is based on an actual (historical) weapon or if it is just a "generic" unit graphic... I am talking about the unit situated in the south west tip of the island where the first battle is played.

I would really appreciate some info...

Thanks to all!!

The unit is generic insofar we use the same coastal gun for all nations. But the gfx itself is based on historic guns:

Aha. So you used your old Betio 2D gun from Panzer Corps as a template/inspiration. I remember you kindly created some graphic stuff for me back in the days.
Nice.

Yes... It looked like something like an 8 inch or at least 6 inch piece... Thanks Bebro and Erik for the information and comments!

It should be this gun here: http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNJAP_8-45_EOC.htm

"Many of these ships were disarmed as part of the Naval Limitation Treaties and their weapons then used as coastal artillery, including two twin turrets at Tokyo Bay, four single guns mounted at Tarawa and another four at Wake Island."
