Lots of depleted Axis units. Will all of those be repaired during the winter? I guess you're not interested in gaining XP on your units since if you drop to 7 or below strength you lose some XP when you repair these units.

Was aiming for a strategic position for end 1942, which i have reached.
The north stands poised for axis flooding. The russians can keep the center while i outflank them in siberia.
Well, thats if i can keep my ground in winter 42...

1942 severe winter will be much safe than 1941's , next spring attack towards Omsk !

It's interesting that Vokt is bombing oil fields. He probably expects you to have oil problems, while you have none. Bombing cities is a bigger problem for the Axis in this game.

Oil well is actually major PP source as well, it provides like 4 x value in PPs.Cybvep wrote:It's interesting that Vokt is bombing oil fields. He probably expects you to have oil problems, while you have none. Bombing cities is a bigger problem for the Axis in this game.
Re: AAR: Supermax VS Vokt (No Vokt pls) Version 4.0
??? Is that real?
Re: AAR: Supermax VS Vokt (No Vokt pls) Version 4.0
Yep. I could completly ignore the bombing and not waste the PP on this, but ive got nothing better to do being on the defensive everywhere. And so i will oppose him for now in the air. Not sure i want to go on the offensive in 1943 in Russia.Cybvep wrote:It's interesting that Vokt is bombing oil fields. He probably expects you to have oil problems, while you have none. I will see when the weather clears.

Morris is right. It's only 4x the oil output. So a 2 PP oil resource will produce 8 oil and 2 PP's.

Hello,
Could You tell how big impact on gameplay new units have, as Mountain Inf, Motorised and Cavalry Corps?

Thanks for your question.bartek74 wrote:Hello,

Well, i rarely look at specifics when i play this game, but from the way i see this they give you more options, and definitely make armies more mobile. That Cavalry unit is very nice, with higher quality than corps and higher mobility. Motorised corps are a better compromise for price VS capability.
Mountain INF i am not so sure. Appart from better quality and maybee some usage in mountain areas, they are kinda only worth the expense if you are planning a defense somewhere. For offensive units, you'd better be spending your PP's on CAV or MOT or even MECH. Basically what i am saying is that for example as the germans you dont need MTN troops for Babrarossa. But these mountain troops could come handy for the defensive battles in 43, but then again later in the game you hardly have the PP to invest in this kind of unit in my opinion.

Mountain units will be very good on the offense if you have to break through a defense line in rough or mountain terrain. E. g. in central Italy or the Alps. The Germans might want mountain units if they go for the Caucasus. The Russians need mountain units to push into the Balkans.
I think having 2-3 mountain units for each major power is a sound strategy. Then you send these units to the rough, forest hills and mountain terrain types.
Cavalry units are a bit like glass cannons. Pretty good on the offense, but quite vulnerable on the defense. The best is that these units don't use any oil and you get 5 movement. Nice in swamps, forests and clear terrain.
Motorised units are almost like regular corps units, but you get +1 movement and 1 oil consumption. The western Allies should build the motorised corps instead of regular corps since they can afford the extra oil consumption. +1 movement is particularly important in Northern Africa when you are in the supply level 3 zone. That means the units can move 4 hexes instead of just 3. Remember that movement is reduced by 1 in supply level 3. With 4 movement you can more easily move through enemy zoc.

Mountain corps does not suffer from winter attack/morale penalty, so it have its uses even in flat terrain.
Its expensive though, add 10 PPs and you are getting mech instead.
