They're all playing I believe. Or is it ok for a guy to play two matches?Brummbar44 wrote:Soviet FM, please select a replacement general from your current command list to replace.glenghiscan wrote:My game with collier hasn't been started or even posted yet? Yep, feel free to pick a player. Ideally someone who is a regular player who is either close to or done their first battle.MacD2013 wrote:They're all playing I believe. Just a quick question, how many smoke rounds are available to each Russian gun that can fire them in our games?

Not sure? I don't think there are more than 6 each thoughskyrider wrote:Just a quick question, how many smoke rounds are available to each Russian gun that can fire them in our games?

Re: B44 for BA2 - Multiplayer Campaign League
My game vs. Scole has ended - and it wasn't even close. 4-0 Germans.
I made a few mistakes and I think his victory was well-earned, but I have one question: how is the German 15 cm artillery priced compared with mortars?
I am asking this because, on turn 1 (maybe 2) of the game, his 15 cm arty (blindly) hit a 2-man unit of mine that was inside a building (64% coverage, if I'm not mistaken). The unit was obliterated and every unit around it (a heavy tank, a mortar and a 5-man infantry) panicked.
On the last few turns, I hit one german 2-man unit standing in the clear (30% coverage) first with a 80mm mortar *then* with the 120mm mortar. After the second hit the unit finally got supressed, but it remained unscathed.
If this is a more realistic approach, I'm fine with it, but I suppose that a 15cm german artillery, firing every turn, should cost more in points than a 80mm and a 120mm soviet mortars added together...
Cheers!

Re: B44 for BA2 - Multiplayer Campaign League
Gibrinskii - Forgot the exact amount of points but close to 100 for the 15cm artillery. Think the Soviet 80mm mortars cost around 40-some points. I'd rather have on 15cm gun than two 80mm mortars but probably would choose x3 80mm mortars instead of one gun.
Re: B44 for BA2 - Multiplayer Campaign League
My game with Skyrider ended, 8 turns before end, germans surrendered.
But I don't understand why you speak about a farce?
It was a careful and bloody game.
About smoke, you ask me 'How can I have never end smoke?' just when i have'nt anymore.
Thx for game

Re: B44 for BA2 - Multiplayer Campaign League
I've discovered there can be good and bad luck with both mortars and the 15cm. In one of my tests, a Soviet militia was the target of the 15cm and wasn't even scratched or demoralized...then in another attack, the 15cm knocked out a KV-2 right away.Gibrinskii wrote:

I agree the 15cm comes at a great price (68 points I think). I'm not entirely sure how Slitherine set the costs for units. We could bump it up but it would mean a whole new download.
For the record, the 120mm mortar can be quite devastating as well. It has good range and I've seen it take out tanks.
Better luck to you in your next battle.
Re: B44 for BA2 - Multiplayer Campaign League
There was a few times my 15cm missed or did minimal damage to infantry but it also knocked out a T-28 and KV-2 with direct hits. On the whole, it is my favorite artillery piece. Agree with your assessment of the 120mm mortars (both German and Russian).Brummbar44 wrote:

Re: B44 for BA2 - Multiplayer Campaign League
That's true - I did destroy a German tank with my 120mm. The 80mm isn't half as good.Brummbar44 wrote:For the record, the 120mm mortar can be quite devastating as well. It has good range and I've seen it take out tanks.
But the thing that really hurt me was the morale loss - everytime I was hit by the 15cm arty, my surviving units remained panicked for around 3 turns. And I had no access to the 'rally' button this time...
Thanks! It's been fun!Brummbar44 wrote:Better luck to you in your next battle.
