Can Elephants and Scythed chariots be placed in Ambush?

The only thing to watch for is that the ambush is legal.

It can be embarrassing when your opponent reveals an ambush of battle troops when the terrain can only conceal LF. Or placing Chariots in terrain where they have no movement allowance.

Apologies for stating the obvious but it happens.

LOL! - We can't see the elephant in the room?

Is there any historical record of this happening? Not complaining - just curious.

Oh - Can I place my camp in an "ambush" if the terrain is located close enough to the rear edge?? Could be an interesting subtlety with 2 other ambush markers in place where the camp could be in more than one of them.

A camp is not a battle group so no

I must look it up, but the thought of a 100+ screaming scythed chariots suddenly emerging at full gallop from a wood must have appealed to a historical general or two :-)
