Passing through friends

Post by titanu »

In a game last night my opponent had some light foot in front of some cavalry. My knights were to their front. I charged, the LF throw a 1 and just cleared the cavalry. My knights threw up 2 and so would have caught the cavalry. My opponent wanted to evade but I said they could not 'pass through' the troops that had passed through them. See page 50.
Column 2 last but 1 bullet:
"No battle group can pass through a battle group that already passed through it this phase."
Interpenetration and bursting through are 'special terms' defined in the rules. Passing through is NOT defined hence it means what it says - passing through.

See the Umpire clarifications

Essentially the cavalry will burst through the LF who will drop a level.

So when you caught my cav in the arse and broke them in the melee, then catching both my lf in the arse cos they couldn't go through the cav therefore breaking them in the next impact was all wrong Bob. Just because when I said its in the bhgs clarifications you didn't believe me because you said I said I tell lies. Unbelievable

Bob was right. Some (or all) of the above may be lies
