Sequence of events in impact phase

Post by imrael »

Excuse whats probably an easy question - still slowly learning the game at one game per month.

I was wondering about the exact sequence of events in the impact phase relating to multiple charges. Page 52 makes it clear that all charges are declared first, but do we then

1. Respond to the charge one-by-one, move chargers andfight the impact phase before responding to the next one
2. Respond to all chargers, then make all moves, then fight all impacts.

There wouldnt be much difference normally, but there might be in the case of intercept charges or the immedaite test for a fragmented target nearby being charged.

If you look at the detailed turn sequence on page 168 it is set out there. It is not quite 1 or 2 in your post as, for instance, interceptors move before evaders, but it is more like 2 than 1 if that makes sense.

Neither.
IIRC there is a detailed sequence of play near the end of the rule book.

But the sequence is
1) Declare all (ordered) charges.
2) Determine if units will charge without orders, or will refuse to charge.
3) For each BG in an order of the owner's choice resolve its move.
3.1) declare and move interceptions
3.2) declare evades, check for routs
3.3) declare direction of charge
3.4) move evaders
3.5) move charging BG
4) Resolve all the impact combats.
