The Russian Surprise Attack has a 12,5% chance of getting triggered in turn 4.
The event "German Army Redeploys" (20% chance in turn 2) will prevent the Russian Surprise at the cost of weakening the German invasion in France.
In turn the event "Schlieffen's Legacy" has a 20% to fire at the start of the game and will prevent "German Army Redeploys" but help the German invasion in France.
So I guess the total chance for a Russian Surprise to occur might be at about 10%.
There is nothing you can do to influence the probability.
Would you like to? Then make a suggestion how this could be achieved.

i played cp quiet smoothly, just that baltic typhus which reduced german navy was surprising, finished in 27 turns, fortunately there is that new event to break liege fast, french positions are like web of cities and small garrisons everywhere, has to be tough later
macedonian front and egyptian rising are still bit wild
when macedonian front was opened, there where some british infantries in first wave, in 2nd came french units, then france surrendered and british units were trapped without supply (salonika has to be french to be able place french units there?)
egyptians just love to trap foreign units in their territories, doesnt matter if entente or cp (i allready suggested to kick these units back to production queue, its not possible? same as when allied unit is on hex of surrendering nation)
as entente there is some terrible bug (i used just update), in 2nd french turn france started with -154 pps and every move point spent by any entente unit cost france next production point, at -300 i just quit

Baltic typhus? Surely you mean Balkan typhoid. You say German navy was affected by it, so I expect you had the Battlecruiser from the "Goeben" event cruising around or what? What makes you so sure it was affected by the event? The event only affects ground troops on hexes originally belonging to Serbia. I'm puzzled.
Egypt revolt and Macedonia: okay, I will try to have troops captured on neutral terrain get put back to the queue with a chance according to the faction's morale. French troops will stop arriving in Salonika if french morale is too low thereby preventing british troops getting trapped withput supply after a french surrender.

(playing Multiplayer, not vs AI)
I fell that 1914 on the Western Front is really tough for the German, even French samll garrisons are able to hold their own. Threatening Paris is impossible.
One of the things we did to correct that ( we have no modding skills) is to disband all at-start British garrisons in the UK. The British are able to land a garrison at the same time the BEF appears, and is able to reinforce with more pretty quickly, which is not very historical. The British consequently are able to hold an unrealistic large portion of the front very quickly. we also disband the Belgian armoured car. It's just too gimmicky - historically the Belgians had ONE small unit of a dozen or so armoured cars!
This puts more pressure on the French and allows for a better "1914" feeling
Otherwise, great mod, me and my pals are really enjoying it

ive told here, mp and ai games are two different kinds of ctgw
potzblitz is fine working vs ai, i havent played mp but i can imagine how tough is to beat human entente (arts are better than in vanilla but they cant substitute aircraft support)

Also, we feel there's a little problem with the 305mm siege mortar event. The mortar was used against Liege historically, but that didn't mean the AH just handed over all their artillery to the Germans. Allowing that is unrealistic anyway, the AH was allied to Germany not a vassal, and they had their own offensives to carry. in addition, they lent their super-heavy because they had no immediate use for it.
The vent leads to two inappropriate options: historical deployment against Liege, but AH stripped of 100% of its artillery, or AH keeps its artillery and is overpowered against Serbia ( implying that if they had kept their siege mortar things would have been much easier for them - which is definitely not true).
we really think the event should be automatic and kept for chrome only - and it would help the Germans in the West (they need it) - and please leave AH ammo

@Zombo: okay, the Howitzer event will now fire automatically for CP without moving the AH arty in MP only. All british garrisons in England and the belgian armoured car have been removed in MP only. Also Putnik will be present from the start with a command radius of 3. Happy?
@Moreau: to trigger an automatic Russian surprise attack just move the Lotzen small garrsion east toward the Russian/German border. Have fun getting stomped.

it fixed that game until finished, for 5 turns
but in next game inspired by moreau, where i finally got russian surprise attack in favor of some real speed run, it happens again

full strike west and garrisons in the east, its enough
west delayed would be tough later
or abandon serbian front, i guess few garrisons can hold/delay serbs enough long, they will be decimated by typhus in winter - just catch naval transports with foreign reinforcements (and maybe serb invasion event will decimate them too, if its not working just against humans)
btw. little trick how to manualy control convoys if u r still interested - just load autosave
