I have my LR Romans and Ancient Spanish up to 800 (actually 830) pts each...trying the 4' x 8' table...
Seems the higher the points go, the better the hairy army is at filling up the battlefield. Have others noticed similar? At higher points, do the barbarian armies 'come into their own?'
Hairies Better w Higher Points?

I agree--that's my limited experience (based three games of Romans versus Gauls so far). If anything higher points would seem to benefit the Late Republican Romans--that many more bases of superior or even elite legionaries to be included in their army, along with plenty of LF and cav.vercingetorix wrote:My experience is that Barbarians tend to max out at a certain point. Once they get the few good, powerful troops they can get the only thing they get more of is mediocre foot.
My Gauls tend to be best at about 800 - 900 points.
just my 2 cents
At 650 the LRR are hampered by the high point costs of the legions.
