Knowing that China has an already strict set of laws for gaming (banning Hearts of Iron series because China is depicted as many countries, which is historically accurate), who knows what that could lead to if there was a South China Sea war game released days after (or before) a real-life event.

Anything up to Desert Storm is perfectly fine, maybe even the Second Gulf War. Stay away from more modern stuff until the dust has had time to settle.

Interesting reply. Perhaps sound.

I say gaming is apolitical.

My games shall not be decided by your personal reservations of political ethics.

Perhaps.

Just small update in this topic from my side. I have contact with Akkula - told him about my ideas, maybe there will be opportunity to cooperate. As I mentioned, I "just" need somebody to create models/ icons (3d models of most of the modern equipment is available on net I can provide essential materials). Can take care about units statistics and sounds - I have it ready.

OI think the best option is to creat equipment for late stage of cold war (end of 80s) because about 90% of equipment in service in armies around the world has still roots in cold war (Abrams Leopard T-80 tanks, F-15, 16 MiG-29 etc.) So with one equipment we can create campaign for cold war, and with just some small updates (t-14 tank, F-22 and F-35) modern warfare will have support.

I totally can't agree that we have to avoid nowdays conflits - nations and countries are same organizms as simple people, they are just bigger. And they will ALWAYS fight and kill - this is our nature and nothing can be changed in this matter. Therefore - Chinesee campaign in Asia would be VERY interesting (just take a look at Battlefield 2 FPS - there were a lot of maps USA vs China) Btw - in one of the mods for People's General named Red Danger in Europe there was campaign with war between Russian and Ukraine...

It would be DLC 4.99 forever.

Make it 2016-2020 and you have your marching orders.

DLC based on changing geopolitical developments makes it current and topical.

A South China Sea DLC for example out now, 4.99$.

Philippians, Taiwan, Australia , etc and you carry your core forward!
It's Heart of Iron meets Panzer General.

Catch phrase is, "Play the world as you see it".

Amusingly as people play out the modern day "South China Sea DLC" they can see it in math, gaming, and discuss it on forums.

No need to reinvent the wheel it's here, it's round and it rolls.

Roll it.

Imagine a website a gaming forum playing out modern day conflicts day to day and discussing the conflicts and outcomes.
That's how I would sell it.
Thank you so much for your support. I think the same. BTW sorry for nooby question, but... what doeas mean DLC and what is South China Sea DLC ? As you know I am new here and not all of the acronyms are known by me.

DLC stands for DownLoadable Content. All the Grand Campaigns were DLCs for Panzer Corps. Those are campaigns that need a preinstalled base game to be run. Allied Corps, Panzer Corps, Africa Corps and Soviet Corps were standalone games that integrate with eachother but all can run on their own. DLCs need one of these to be preinstalled to run and are cheaper since they only provide scenarios, not the game itself.

I feel a modern warfare corps can't be a DLC. It would require a whole new set of units, new graphics new sounds etc. That's too much work to tel as just a DLC, that needs to be full price considering all the work involved. And no. you doing it "for free" is no argument. Someone needs to do quality checks, balance testing, sound design, beta testing and all that jazz. That's work that someone needs to pay for, that's why I think htis would be the most expensive expansion to create since the base game.

Maybe you are right this can't be a DLC. Maybe. But on the otheer hand you have some mods with new units etc. As I mentioned I have already working equipment files with slightly other game People's General. And anyway -m I am not pushing anyone to join me and start the project. I just offer my work, my experience, my materials and my help to prepare this.

P.S.
We can just develop suitable equipment file with icons without campaing - and leave this matter for future gamers. Anyway for me it is VERY weard that we have a lot of FPS games about modern warfare, and not a lot of strategy games (some RTS only).
