Highest Medal awards

So I read the FAQ and see that the final medal for any nation require alot of unit/strength kills to get, even more so on GC.

I noticed most campaigns are not long enough for this, anyone have a good pointer as to the best way to get these ?

I am in the last mission of the 1943 Grand Campaign in the East.
I have 1 unit, my triple hero SE Inf, that is a few kills away from 2300 kills and still do not have the Highest German Honour.

Grand Campaign when medals are awarded
Iron Cross 2nd Class 100 kills
Iron Cross 1st Class 400 kills
Knights Cross 800 kills
Knights Cross with Oak Leaves 1300 kills
Knights Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords 1900 kills

I am waiting for diamonds and waiting to see what the ultimate German award will end up being.
I am hoping in 1944.

yeah the GC award requirements are sick, but for the other campaigns its 1000, doable but hard

Uber Rudel has earned my highest medal yet.

Knights Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds 2600 kills

I sense a pattern that is with the awards for my units that leads me to believe that 3400 kills will be the ultimate medal, but what could that be? And my goodness that will take all of Uber to achieve.

That is a steep number of kills, but maybe I am wrong and it will only take 3000 kills.

Either way I cannot wait to find out what it is, just kidding I can wait, don't go spoiling it for me by telling me.
(But I wouldn't mind knowing the number of kills it takes to achieve it.)

One German bomber may have sunk several cruisers, battleships, destroyers, etc., in comparison a huge amount of loss of life, value and equipment, yet this is also not reflected in the prestige / awards given.

Well this weekend I was able to finally earn the Highest German Medal
Gold Knights Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds 3500 kills

Man that was a toughie to get and something I earned in the 2nd battle of 1945 with Uber Rudel.

There is not a 3rd medal slot for the Germans.
