C'mon all you foggeRs get your entries in. You know you want too! We need some more lowly ranked cannon fodder like myself to feed the fog meisters ambitions.

I hope so but there's no accounting for taste - I've never come across a better set of rules than FOG R in terms of a providing a good finishable game in the time allowed.donm2 wrote:spotteddog wrote:C'mon all you foggeRs get your entries in. Where are Messrs Jones and Avis? Presumably late entries. Hunter is so keen to play them and bemuse them with the sweep of his Spanish Matador's cape. Hole!!

Mr Hope would be more than happy to see Don and Ben at Britcon but is more likely to be admiring from afar than sharing a table. The rankings never lie and it is far more likely that Monsewer Munro will be tussling with D & B at the top tables. Ole!

Wouldn't miss it John. Looking forward to it immensely. Very grateful to organisers and of course our umpire. Far too often the umpire goes unrecognized - not on my watch. Hats off to Keith. Splendid guy. I don't believe a word of that stuff you were saying about him John - not a word.

Re: Britcon 2016 12-14 August
Hunter, you should stop down playing your chances - the same way you do every year.
You have a powerful Later Imperial Spanish army loaded with elites and superiors that you have been playing with every week at the club. I do not recall it having lost a game yet and that includes many games against myself. This year, I think you will be number one on the FOGR podium with my own powers, weakened by advancing years, being unable to compete with the Spanish power.
As for comments about the umpire, you must be suffering side affects from that course of performance enhancing drugs!!.

Re: Britcon 2016 12-14 August
Avast .......
I prefer to look on more it as playing up the chances of my esteemed opponents than playing down my own chances.
Crikey - every spotted dog has his day after all! Pity is - I think I've had mine, having snagged some unbelievable luck in my last game against Adrian last year to propel me from my usual ignomy to bag the bottom step on the (proverbial) podium.
In addition any fogger with a keen eye would have placed bets on your boys for a win had our game on Thursday gone the distance instead of timing out as usual.
Finally I am compelled to, once again, rally to our umpire's defence to refute the coarse allegation that any praise for his esteemed self could only be accounted for by the praiser having consumed quantities of illegal substances. Shame on you! I do hope - most sincerely - that you do not have occasion to ask for the umpire's assistance at any point and fear for you if you do. Whilst I am sure that Keith will include professionalism in his long list of admirable attributes there must surely be a limit to the avalanche of slurs a human being can accommodate without there being some measure of payback. I do fear for you but in fairness must observe that you have brought it on yourself.

Hunter, I am bemused. I have no knowledge of making any aspersions as to the quality of our esteemed umpire. Perhaps you can enlighten me.
Your protestations of being a lamb to the slaughter are fooling no one as our esteemed period organiser has already highlighted. You know your quality army well and are using it very well. As I recall from last Thursday you were breaking my centre when we had to call time.

I was referring to comments you claimed I had made about the umpire that apparently do not exist outside your mind.
