Unit Icons

Post by SiegfriedDeLoewe »

Hi!!!

Is it possible to have different unit icons for pike units of different era and nation?
Right now i see only two files Pike.dds and Pikeshot.dds.
How can i "connect" custom unit icon file with for example: UnitTextures\IW_Swiss\Swiss_Square@.dds?

First of all, do all this in a custom campaign, not in the main build.

See the diagram at the end of http://www.slitherinebravo.net/GameWiki ... tub_engine for the file structure for custom campaigns. It isn't exactly the same as the file structure in the main game.

Then copy in the squads.csv file from the main installation \Data directory.

Change the entry in the IconID column for swiss pikes to match your custom icon filename (minus the ".dds"). Note that there are several different Swiss pikes units in the squads file.

If you get stuck, ask again.

Paul59 or Odenathus may also be able to give you advice, as they have both done this.

You need to save it in DXT3 (Explicit Alpha) .DDS format
