Multiplayer login problem

i tried logging into multiplayer to play a multiplayer match and couldn't, so i figured i forgot the password. to try an fix this, i reset my password using the forums login. tried logging into the forums, which i did successfully. i went back to the game and it still says the username and password do not match.
I still would like to know why there is no "live" multiplayer for this great game.
