Dxdiag for Vince.zip
(12.09 KiB) Downloaded 76 times
Finally got this to work! (I hope) :D

I've also tried the "launch problem" solution but that didn't help-if I did it right. Also deleted the games @ Steam & reloaded them again so files shouldn't have any changes.

What kind of monitor you have? It says you desktop screen resolution is 1024x768 and the native mode is 800x600.
Something is wrong or you are playing in one of those 15" old monitors.

I am playing on one of those old 15" monitors! (SAMSUNG SyncMaster 750)
That's never been an issue until now apparently (because I had to change OS because of Microsoft) Also it seems to be likely just with this game-at least as far as adjusting the resolution etc. (are 2 other glitches in 2 other games that I know of)

I had thought about the monitor but, when I discussed that with a tech,he thought I'd just have the same trouble on a bigger, newer monitor. BUT he also thought the release date for OOB Pacific was back in 2003.(old game he said-after looking it up) I see that this date is actually April 2015.

So,if the problem is the monitor age/size,what would you recommend?

The minimum resolution for the game is 1024x768, but obviously the game, being a new game, wasn't designed to be played at these lower resolutions.
All the buttons will be big, although I think you should see all the options..,. however if the monitor native resolution is 800x600 then it's possible that game screen is not displaying correctly.

I'm OK with a 23" or 24". But some people like to play games on big screens, like 27" or even 32".
Some newer games don't even play on these 1024x768, so I would say definitely get a new monitor.

I had to change the resolution to 1024 x 768 -the recommended was 800 x 600 iirc.

Panzer Corps runs fine on 1024 x 768 but in Pacific I can't even see many words let alone buttons/tabs-all off page.I'll try a new(er) monitor when I can.Have a gimpy knee etc. that's being treated.(3 medical appointments this week)

Thanks for your help!

OK-I bought a new 24" monitor (bigger wouldn't fit very well) & if anything-things are worse! Set the resolution to 1920 x 1080 but even my desk top/tool bar now is too big.Yet the next lower 1680 x 1050 has room to expand (black margins). The main thing is there is no difference between the old & new monitors with OOB Pacific.I tried running the game @ both the above resolutions. No real difference except @ 1680 games informed me that 1920 is better.I even tried changing the resolution (off & on 1920) on my video card but again no difference.(those 2 other glitches in other games are also still there-haven't had time to try much else)
