overlay modified

Honestly I am not able to distinguish at first look units with hero or not, so I will try to change hero1.png of folder Overlay but when I load the game white colour is not transparent is there any mod of voerlay or guide how to modify these .png keeping transparent rest of hex?

This screenshot explains clearer what I say, I just included a star at right bottom to find easier which unit has a hero, but overlay is completely white... any help or program to edit the .png located in PzC/Graphics/Overlays?

I can just about use Paint.net. Others with better graphics skills may come up with better or more reliable ways to do this, but this should work..

For Paint.net
Select the background with the magic wand.
Delete it.
Save the file as a png.
Replace the jpg with png.

Hope it works.

Nice job I like it and it makes them stand out perfect, I might have do something similar for my mod.
