Where to find Prestige rewards for Triumph vs. Victory?

Post by Volpone »

Where can I find the Prestige point rewards for achieving a Triumph in an Allied Corp mission vs. a Victory?

It seems that in Allied Corp, the Victory conditions are relatively easy and can be achieved with a minimum cost, while the Triumph conditions are far more costly. I'm curious if I'm spending more Prestige to upgrade a Victory to a Triumph than what I get for the greater win condition.

Amount of prestige points given for Triumph/Decisive Victory, Victory and Loss can be found in the \panzer corps\data\campaign.pzdat file. A simple text editor can open that file.

Thanks for the info! I looked at campaign.pzdat, and now I'm even more confused.

Looking at the Allied Corp missions, it looks like every mission gives the same amount of Prestige regardless of whether you complete it with Triumph or Victory.

Am I looking at the file right?

There are very few maps that give more for minor win the major win, thats through all the different campaigns that can be played.

The Devs generally keep that you get same prestige as those that struggle would be worse off for minor win.

The advantage to major wins is that you get choose where you go and get extra maps.

Thanks again for the info. The "tree" for Allied Corps is mostly linear, but I can see what you mean with the original campaign and a few other campaigns.

I suggest start from beginning if your having problems.

Try learn some good tactics from other players, if your playing allied corps its the easier of the collection.

That said the American campaign can be nightmare in start, as you start half way through the tree. I found British tanks are better than American, British recon, American arty (British 17 pounder AT and arty), British or American airpower.

Try to shield your units with arty support, the AI will leave protected units alone sometimes, if goes for will get good kick. Recon 2/3rds your recon movement pull back if find the enemy. Take out arty and AA first and always soften targets with arty or air power first.

Watch out for Soft cap rules in 1.20 rules.

Wait till you reach Stalingrad in 42 DLC now thats hell.
