London Blitz v238
For those who "love" the WWII air war (as I do).
London Blitz provides a portion of the Battle of Britain conflict; from the German side of Operations. You command the Luftwaffe fighter and bomber squadrons as you attempt to subdue the will of the English people. This scenario provides intense fighter and bomber combat in the skies over England.
This scenario is played in the Mod - Battle of Britain v238 (or higher).
I would like to thank Slitherine and Aristocrats for bringing to "life", the SSI board games of my youth.
Thanks,
Earle

Thank you! This fun!!! Been waiting for a fun version of the Battle of Britain for years. Any plan to take on portions of the Air War over Europe?

You are the bomb!!!!! Excellent work. Wonderful fun! My first try in The Blitz resulted in a draw. Got to take better care of my bombers
Now I have to split my time with bombing Reich!

Bombing Essen , fought my way to Essen and began to bomb. Game went into its thinking mode and stayed there for 2 hours before I finally gave up and shut it down. Its a problem in other scenarios also. Sure hope they get it worked out!

Re: London Blitz v238
NOTE: This answer is in response to a question on - Mod-Battle of the Ruhr: Essen'43 (NOT London Blitz).
Skyrider,
I left this scenario "open", you select what to put into play. The problem is (I think) related to what resources are available, (how good your system is).
In other words, you may have had too many (USA) units in play. On my system max is about (40 planes USA) total. The Red "Thinking" death where the background sound plays, the spinner spins, and the Red "thinking" continues to move to 100% and then forever, is best as I can tell related to # US planes, in this case.
I tested the issue, at 50 planes - Red "thinking" Death. At 30 plane limit, no problems. Test it yourself? Tell me the results?
There are other factors with the AI (as far as I can tell), I bomb the coasts and other targets to keep the AI Luftwaffe spread out. I've noticed when the AI planes group together in mass, that can cause problems also.
I think I want more from "AI game engine", than it is ready to give?
Adherbal or Eric may be able to give you a better answer. There are no books on how to do this.
In most scenarios, this is all tightly controlled, such as London Blitz.
I wrote this for myself, I can play (4) different games with this one scenario. I know the limits on my computer. These scenarios take a lot of time to write. There is no financial reward. Quite frankly, there is very little interest shown in these projects. (You are the only one interested, so far).
Thanks,
Earle

Re: London Blitz v238
Jeez Earle, I meant no insult! I love your work. It appears to me that the problem is in the game itself, not your scenarios. As I played this last attempt ( using the new 2.4 version of the game) I watched as I added more aircraft. You are right fewer aircraft the game functions fine. At the upper limits the red death takes over. In order to get out of the game I used the task master and noted these readings...0.7 % of CPU in use 1911.0 MB of memory in use. My machine is Windows 10 Home, Intel i7-6700 CPU @3.40 GHz 3.41, 8 GB Ram 64 bit operating system, x64 based processor
Re: London Blitz v238
I've just started playing this scenario and have much fun.
Very slick production. Thanks for sharing.
I think I would have preferred if the German Flak was handled by the AI.
Currently it is easy to first move the Flak towards the German coast, then lure the British fighter across the Channel and blast them.
Then the German fighters mop up the left-overs.
Note that I've only played 8 turns so far.

I began playing Ruhr. Your given 90 pts for aircraft. Turn after turn I added aircraft and reached a conclusion. With my machine you can put aircraft on the board until you reach 33 pts remaining the game runs well. At 30 points however the red screen of death appears. Don't know if this will hold true for others!

Counted the number of U.S. planes and it appears my magic number is 33.

Skyrider,
No insults inferred, given, or received. I was just explaining my situation. We are all motivated by something.
My system is a i5 - 16gb ram, with Intel Iris 540 on board graphics, so not a lot.
It likes it better at 30 planes for your machine, good to know - thanks.
Please download the Mod again, I made a couple of adjustments, let me know if it works OK?
Earle

Will dwnld again. I just checked and the download still shows as version 1.0. Should this be reinstalled over the last or should the former be removed first?

Re: London Blitz v238
Skyrider,
Yes.
The max available should be (31) USA planes, the one plus , the (30) you can add. (3-units each (*) 30 = 90.
Let me know... (if the Germans are too tough).
Thanks,
Earle

Re: London Blitz v238
Skyrider,
Sure, you can change it yourself.
The Turn length, amount of units (I want more units - Slitherine, Artistocrats), map, target locations, etc - all go into play when "designing a scenario". Which does not mean (I am right), it just fits my purpose. I wanted this to be reasonably short, lots of action, easily playable in a few hours (evening), thus (24) turns.
I had plans (still do
) - of a Campaign of Essen, Gelsenkirchen, and Cologne - The full Battle of the Ruhr. It will be over (90) turns. Probably way to long for most people, it will be in three sections, so you do not have to play it through, you can play different scenarios of the campaign. Those are the plans for this project.

Re: London Blitz v238
Practice sometimes make a mockery of theory..... in my last play 15 allied aircraft led to the red screen.. so I'm out of ideas ..14 P51s and a single B25
