Most sought after army for which there are no 15mm models?

Post by khurasan_miniatures »

Just an idle question, not that I'm going to take the answer and make a line of miniatures or anything. ;)

Which army is the most sought after/highly regarded in FoG but is not represented in 15mm? Thank you.

All the best,

Have you seen the Feudal castings range, sold by LKM?

Dismounted Tibetan Cataphracts? Mounted Tibetan cataphracts firing bows. Oviously a future list book though.

How about Sassanids in 15mm?
Very sought after.
There's none out there AFAIK*

Islamic Berbers - Murabits, Almohades, etc
Although I don't know where they fit in FoG, no list even announced yet - that's correct isn't it?

I thought Old Glory had Sassanids, though I haven't seen any pictures of them so I don't know about any felt hats.

Essex does Sassanids http://www.essexminiatures.co.uk/frames15anc.html (go to page 8 via the sidebar.) They've been releasing army packs, do not appear to have gotten to this one yet. http://www.essexminiatures.co.uk/frames15mmcont.html (check sidebar for link to army packs.)

I'd say a varied range of Hunnic, if you weren't already working on that

Ilkhanids that aren't just repackaged steppe Mongols (since apparently alot of them were Cumans, Persians and other subjects, presumably in Mongol style armor but perhaps not).

Agree with the Sasanian suggestions.
Horse archers on barded mounts, no globe hats (I keel you if you do the globe hat)
Wonder which period people would choose though? Early Arsacid-influenced or Byzantine-period equivelants (I know there is the steppe version as well). Do some decent infantry as well!

Yours disgracefully

Armies, gents! Swiss drummers, lol! How many would I sell to recoup my $200 investment? :)

Tibetois are under way, Huns will be part of the LIR line (light AND heavy huns), Sassanians will be done once one can knock together a full LIR with my models (same sculptor will do both). Koreans are already done by rudy scott nelson but the models are in limbo as quartermaster is apparently not in business any longer -- unless there's been an update.

What are santy nanny dingdongs?

Most helpful are responses based on released lists, as we know if the army is any good and what's in it! lol

Here's what's coming soon/very soon/EXTREMELY soon from KM:

Nikephorian byzos
Chichimec dog persons
Avars plus their slav minions
LIR (some already available)
Tibetois
2-4 century Germans, with shield options to make them 2nd C. (Marcomanni/quadi) or later sausage eaters (goths, alemanni, gepids etc) -- yes both top knot AND sensible hair style
Dalarna levies for later medieval scandinos (both type of polearm, crossbows, handgunners)
Possibly the Shanks from Kregen (unkike the above, not underway yet, still a project that hasn't come across the curve of the earth yet)
Elephant for the Khurasanians, and he is GORGEOUS folks!!!

Good gaming!

A good suggestion, and I had considered it very seriously. But right now it is too much like Avars, an army I am about to release.

Santa Hermandad Nueva Castillian, or words to that effect. Storm of arrows, near the back. Medieval Iberian types.

But for my money you can forget all the others, get the Tibetans out, especially the Exorcists with Magic Daggers.

Mob, Unprotected, Elite, Undrilled, _ , _

I have some figures I use for these, but they are just from some fantasy range.
